Dillard's — Local services in Hattiesburg

There was a great variety of items to choose from. This was my first time shopping here on January 1 and I'm glad my mom asked me to join her. The sale was awesome!!! I found four MK purses that I liked and one of them did not have a tag. The shoe department staff told me to go to the handbag section to get the price. I went to the register and asked could I get a price and Vicki said this is not the day for this and we don't have time to get the price. I said, I really want this purse and it's similar to the other one that has a ticket. She still refused to assist me with getting a price. She displayed very poor customer service skills. I walked over to the next register approximately seven feet away and asked Hannah the same question and she immediately began to look for a price for the purse. She also asked three other associates to assist and in about seven minutes Darryl I believe her name tag read used computer and scanner to make a ticket. Finally I was able to buy the four purses. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because of how inconsiderate Vicki was and I wouldn't want an employee that unconcerned about customer's needs working...

I was thinking about buying a new pair of shoes. I considered going to this store until I remembered what happened this time last year. I had just received our tax return and went there to get a nice pair of dress shoes. I walked around and found a pair I liked. I walked up to several employees and tried to get their attention. They saw me. They kept walking. I walked around for 15 minutes trying to get someone to help me. Whenever I called my husband and told him how I was being treated I was using my "outside voice". They called an armed security guard to stand at a counter and watch me. I waited ten more minutes and left. The guard made me uncomfortable. I apparently didn't look like I could afford to shop there so, the staff couldn't be bothered to attend to me. I haven't been in this store since that day. You people should learn not to judge a book by its cover. Sam Walton used to go shopping in overalls. Ya know. The guy who created Walmart. That guy. People didn't want to wait on him either. I wish I had the ability to fire those people the way he fired...

A few days ago, my mom and me went to look for a a suit and pants for concert I have coming up. My mom came and tried to open the door to get in, but it couldn’t so she assumed it was too late. But by a miracle this kind lady called her back and said if she knew exactly what she was going to get she can go in quickly. My mom said yes and immediately went to the men’s section to get what she needed. But apparently a lady was being rude to her and said she had to speak in English (I believe as an insult), she proceeded to say she and my brother couldn’t go through because she was closing. You literally have a good few minutes, she just needed to grab something and pay. Just because you’re lazy, you shouldn’t be mean.
