Country Gardens & Nursery — Local services in Heber

Do NOT go here! They are very unprofessional and their pricing methods do not match the industry. I bought four Canadian Choke Cherry trees from Country Gardens and Nursery. Upon checkout I discovered one was $58 more. I was in a rush with two kids and when I asked, he said that one was larger. Ok. Two days later my husband went to pick them up with the receipt. The girl said he'd have to get one the next day when they could operate the fork lift, because it was larger. That turned out not to be the case, and he easily loaded the 4 trees, the same size into his truck. When my landscaper came the next day, he confirmed they were all the same size, a one inch caliper. I called the store, the manager apologized, and said no problem, come by this afternoon and we'll refund you. I go in the afternoon, explain the situation to the girls in the shop, who were not aware, and asked to speak to the manager. They both paled, and said she was in a really bad mood, it had been a rough day. Be that as it may, I'm here and need to speak with her. She was unfriendly and proceeds to tell me I was charged more because that tree was older, and they need to cover their costs. I've never heard such BS in my life. I explained the manager this morning offered me a refund. She said I fired her today. Again, not my problem and yet I'm the one being charged improperly dealing with employees who are afraid of the GM (she said she was the GM) and feel the need to warn customers she's in a bad mood. UPDATE I did get a call back from the manager, and they did end up issuing me a refund on the "deer resistant" plants that were eaten. I appreciate their desire to keep me happy. They also provided an approved list of "deer proof plants" which I haven't bought and tested anything on the list, but I thought it was a gesture of trying to be helpful. I'm cautiously optimistic that since they're local they actually have a clue on what really is deer proof vs just what the labels say.

*ORIGINAL POST * I bought deer resistant plants. So said the labels. Two days later, the leaves are all gone on 2 of the 3 plant-types I purchased. Chased the deer right off my front porch. #1, Don’t trust the labels #2 they have no guarantee policy. #3 no customer service. Person answering phone was unknowledgeable about their policies except that they have no guarantee policy, and replied “I’m not sure if we can do anything about that.” And I still don’t have a call back from the manager. I’ll just go to Home Depot from here on because they have a 100% guarantee at least. Tried to support local, but can’t keep doing that when they don’t meet my basic...

I shopped at Country Gardens & Nursery today and I have to say I LOVE this place! I usually am on the lookout for flowers and since they have such a wide variety, I always find what I'm looking for. Today I was hoping to find a rose trellis and they had many beautiful ones to choose from. Sophie was so helpful as I told her what I needed. She showed me the trellises they had from wood, ornate metal, arch etc. When she wasn't sure the answer on a question I had she quickly got someone to help which I really appreciated. Michelle was so knowledgeable as she helped me decide on what trellis I needed and provided different ideas on the best way to take care of my climbing roses!
