Update I went back and a new stylist was able to fix my hair color to be more of what I was looking for by switching the brand of color. It's been a few weeks and the color is still really pretty, and I have been getting lots of compliments on the color that she mixed for me. I've noticed that my ends are lightening up a bit, but that's likely because of the lighter color that was put in my hair during the first visit. Nothing too major, and was to be expected. I understand that mistakes happen, and I appreciate them being so willing to try again and get me what I was looking for! Can't wait to have it touched up because the color is just that good. :) Thanks to all at Wilde Willow!!!
I went in this last Tuesday for an all over color and hair cut to go darker for the fall. The overall experience was good, and we ended up doing a dimensional color because I had mentioned that I liked the look of maybe doing some low lights. I trusted my stylist with the change in plan, and she was confident she could do it in time. My stylist was VERY nice, but there were moments things felt a bit rushed. I'm writing this review because I'm only six days in, washed my hair once, and the color seems to have completely come out of the bottom half of my hair, and is nothing like what I had asked for. The ends are MUCH lighter than the rest, and I can't find any of the darker color in it. I paid quite a bit for the dimensional color, and tipped 25% on everything, only to have it only look slightly different than what I came in with. I had mostly wanted everything one color with just a few low lights on the top for some dimension, but I think she put maybe too much of the lighter color, and not enough dark. She only looked at my inspo pic briefly at the beginning, but I trusted she understood what I was looking for. Like I said, my stylist was very nice and accommodating, but I am pretty disappointed with my hair after just 6 days. It was pretty while it lasted, but I didn't pay over $300 just to have it seemingly wash out. 🤷♀️ Not sure I'll go back to this salon if their color can't be trusted to stay longer...
Read moreUPDATE: Boosting my review back up because everyone at this salon was so understanding, kind, and willing to help. They thinned and evened the ends for me. I'm very thankful; everyone at this place is a sweetheart. I'm still not happy with my hair, but it's gone now and they at least fixed what they could.
Let me start by saying the girl who cut my hair was very sweet. I have no problems with her as a person, or her talent. My haircut was not bad, I just specifically told her I wanted a trim. I even showed her by holding my hair and pointing out how much I wanted cut, which did NOT exceed 2 inches. I'm going on vacation and I just wanted some dead ends trimmed. To my surprise, she cut like 6" off my hair. I expressed that I was shocked at how much she took off, but I wasn't going to make a scene or be rude because she didn't deserve that; I paid in full and tipped 20%, and left. I was very nice, and didn't want to embarrass her in front of the other stylists or clients. But I bawled in my car. I've been growing my hair for 7 years, and I was just shocked that me telling her a trim would result in such a dramatic cut. Again, she is a lovely girl and the cut itself isn't that bad, she just didn't really listen to me, and by the time she asked me how I was feeling about the length, it was too late. I thought I was very clear, but I guess not. Not trying to be a Karen or anything. I am just really sad that I was not listened to.
Edit the more I looked at it, the more I realized how blunt my ends are. So bulky on the bottom. No point cutting, no shaping, and it's going to look awful when my hair is natural and curly. Call me silly if you want, but I've been crying all day. She cut like a third of my hair off when all I...
Read moreSuper cute salon!!! Love the new place, but my hair looked the exact same before and after the cut.. if not a little worse.
the gal washed my hair which was nice, but after cutting it her other appointment came in 20-30 minutes early and I felt like the rest of the hair cut and blow drying was incredibly rushed. She had someone else come and help dry one side while she did the other - it felt like they just wanted to get me out the door instead of blow drying and styling it. Both the gals were doing different things with the round brush so each side was looking different, I asked them to make it even at least.
The cut itself didn’t look anything like the photos I showed, and you couldn’t even tell that I got a hair cut, the split ends were also still there and when I was “done” I had the gal cut them as I was standing up pointing them out in the mirror….
I’d like to try this place out again with someone more experienced and not feel rushed next time.. I had to make another appointment elsewhere to fix the slight layers that were put in as they are very uneven as well. :(
Hoping with better luck with another more experienced hair dresser...
