The woman at the front desk told me my kids were being too loud when I was trying to check in at midnight during a snow storm the booking was one day off I needed it one day prior and the computer said there was nothing available so I cancelled it because the woman said there were rooms. Then I had to request a refund and got told they don't have to respond for 48hrs and may not refund me at all. They are inside now and had the option to refund me but chose not to at this point. Knowing full well I'm in the car outside with my 3 .kids. im driving home now to Colorado overnight in a snow storm with my 2 toddlers and I will be calling my bank to get my money back. I hate this place.|Every hotel and airline I have used make accomodations for paying customers. But not this place it's the next day ...called guest services and they said that the hotel released my refund last night as soon as they got the email and called me. But that's not true because I sat in the parking lot waiting for them to answer the request from booking for for about 30min. So I could rebook my stay. So that was really sneaky they waited until I left the parking lot and did not call me. I got back home to steamboat today and...I have been awake since 6am Monday for my job and I get my first call back from the manger saying nothing on the other end l this morning. So I called back and long story short he said "I hope you never come stay here again". This is funny to me I worked as a banquet server at the La Jolla Hyatt brigantine and as concierge in my younger days at the Hilton bayfront in San Diego, I've also valued cars at the Wesson and the US Grant. These are All hotels who pride themselves in customer service and trying to achieve 5 black diamond status. These people don't even make eye contact and greet you from 6 ft away. This place will never achieve that. I stayed at a rundown small Holiday inn in hermiston, Oregon on the 16th and the woman greeted me with a smile at the door and it was a wonderful experience. Even though the hotel was not new. This location in Utah has a lot to learn from a s* rundown hotel in hermiston. The manager also told me that I was just mad because I didn't get treated the way I wanted to. It's not because I didn't have any accommodations after I paid for them and had to drive home in the middle of the night in an emergency situation. That's that's not why. Last Year the company I work with now evergreen energy consulting group stayed close by for our team days. I will be adamant in the future to ensure that we never book a party at this Hermiston Holiday inn again. The one in Longview Washington isn't much better. The carpets were filthy. They made my socks black when I walked around on the floor. I will never bring my family back to either one of those locations. Heads up to all you...

I initially said that the staff were nice and the room was comfortable, but I gave 3 stars because the hallway to my room smelled like cat urine (the smell was gone by the second day). I know that reviews are powerful, so I was giving them the benefit of the doubt. However, I later found the front desk staff to be incredibly unhelpful and inconsiderate.
I am a religious Jew, and my stay at the hotel went over the Sabbath, my day of rest. During this time I am unable to use electronics, including the key card to my room. I explained the situation to the front desk ahead of time and asked them if they would please help me access my room during this time (I would really only need an escort once during my stay). I was told that it was against their policy to escort guests to their rooms. I was a little taken aback since I have never had a problem getting an escort on the Sabbath from any other hotel I have stayed at, so I politely asked if I could speak to the manager. The front desk lady said she would ask her.
I returned later in the day and spoke to a woman named Misty at the front desk. I explained my situation again and asked if she had heard from the manager. She said yes, and said that the manager restated the policy not to escort guests because of a safety issue for the female staff. I asked if there were any male staff who could help me, and she said no. Then came the kicker: she said that it's also not worth their time to escort guests because they're too busy with other things. I could not believe my ears. A woman working in the field of hospitality told me it's not worth her time to be hospitable. Let that sink in for a moment.
I was resigned to be locked out of my room all day Saturday, but a very helpful person from my CE training offered to go to the hotel and assist me. Without her I would have had to twiddle my thumbs in the lobby for 5 hours until the Sabbath was over. It's absolutely ridiculous that the front desk staff couldn't be bothered to spend 1 minute to walk around the corner and unlock my door for me. Like I said, I have been to many hotels over the Sabbath, and this was the first one to ever refuse my request to help me on my...
Read moreI stayed at this location for a week and it was a very pleasant one. I came in the middle of the night. I had called and spoken to Tyler, the night shift young man, to let him know that I was gonna be so late. I told him what kind of room I wanted and he had everything just like I asked. He was so nice. I got into my room almost ready to fall asleep but it was an adjoining room. Unfortunately, my neighbors woke up very early and they were so loud. I could hear every word they were saying. But I went downstairs, spoke to Tyler and he said that they would get me into another room as soon as they could. They were sold out from the night before, so they didn’t have anything available. The dayshift young lady came in, Tirzah, and she had the maids get a room cleaned for me. Took my number & in less than a half an hour she called to say it was ready. Next room the air conditioner wouldn't turn off. She got the maintenance gal right up to my room in just a minute or two and she tried her best to fix it, but could not. I was a little frustrated by this point and very tired, but they took care of it. They got the room straight across the hall for me clean so fast. Even the maintenance girl helped clean that room. They got it cleaned lickety-split and all I had to do was move my stuff right over across the hall. I stay at a lot of hotels and I can tell you the service I received during this time was so good. They went out of their way to make sure I was happy. They even offered to help me move across the hall. |The rooms are super clean. After I moved from the adjoining room, I never heard my neighbors again. My room was so quiet. The beds are very comfortable. |The breakfast was very good. Young lady named Kelsi was very nice & had everything well stocked. | I would definitely stay...
