5 days ago, I sent this email "I would like to start off by saying picking the dress was so much fun and Ni. She was absolutely amazing. She found a dress, like the one I have seen in your dreams, and I never thought a dress could make me so happy/beautiful. It was quick and fast for me to get the dress ordered and for me to pick it up in Henderson, NV. When I place the order, they set up the altered appointment for 8/9/25. I thought because everything was so easy that this process would be easy, and oh boy I was so wrong. 8/9/25 - 12PM - We (me and my mother) drop off my dress on 8/9/25. What the plan was to hem the skirt and short the straps. Which took about 3-3:30 hours to do, which was okay I know it was going to be a lot of pining. I did let Christna know that I would like to keep all the cut off from my dress. I told her more than two times. I want to have a sweatshirt make out of the dress that I loved." Well, the email does go on so from 9/6 - 9/19 I spent my weekends at David's Bridal for 3 -4 hrs every weekend. Trying to fix the dress that they had messed up. They cut the arm way to short and the had to keep adding stuff to the dress to fix their mistake. they did keep giving me the run around saying that they are really busy and that they may be done this day but when that day came it was not done so they would push it. so back to the email "9/19/25- 5:30 pm - I get there, and my dress is ready. thank God. But when I put it on, I feel like the dress is ugly and I am not happy at all. Everyone is saying how pretty I look, and I would tell people I do not feel pretty I even had said this to your staff members. Along with that I had got another dress just in case this one does not work. My top is flared out on the top where you can see my boobs (thank God I did bring my bra that I was going to wear on my wedding day). The way that they fixed it was to sewing in some buttons to the bra and the dress. Gave me the story that they would not be able to get it done tonight because they cannot work overtime and she may not have time today. My mother-in-law said no it needs to be done now. She told us to come back in 45 min. I did break down and cried (I am not a crier) because I know we cannot go back. My dress is not the same dress that it was when I first fell in love with it. I should have never got it altered. I should have just left it how it was..." Now: I really hate my wedding dress now but there is no time left to get a new one. So now I half to wear a dress that I dislike on my big day. This dress when I got it was just the dress I was looking for. But I feel like this dress is nothing I want to look at anymore. I am even talk to my mother about Renting a wedding dress or just wearing the dress I can get off of Amazon. This is how much I hate this dress now. When I talk to other people that will be getting married, I will tell them about my experience. I will make sure to tell them to take the dress somewhere else to have the alteration done. That is not worth the headache. They also lost my dress cut off. Now I cannot have a sweatshirt (That I was looking forward to have made) made with my scraps of my wedding dress. They told me that they had lost some of the scrap and that they will give me someone else’s scraps from their dress that look similar (Who wants someone else dress?). Which makes me think that someone else is wearing my scraps on their dress. I feel like David’s bridal has disappointed me and they are well known. I should have been a bride zilla and maybe I could gave been 1st priority, but because I was nice and go with the flow I was walk over and I was last priority.
still no email from them. I will keep everyone updated if I get a email or phone call.
Updated : I wanted to give you all an update on the Dress situation at David’s bridal. Like I said before Ni is the greatest. She got me a replacement dress. Not in the best condition but now the alterations are complete and I’m getting married...
Read moreALTERATIONS EDIT I am sharing my experience in hopes of helping other brides, not to further criticize the business regarding things I have not already communicated directly with them and been compensated for.
Write down the pricing they quote you. Initially I was told $58 for the first 3 bustle points, and $9 per point afterwards (as I praised them for in my initial review). I was told I'd need 15 points total. My next visit, they changed it to $18/point because I have a "special dress" and told me I'd need 20 points total DESPITE them going through the dress and safety pinning the dress both times. Thankfully I wrote the price down and they matched the price they initially quoted me after I made a complaint about it. They're not very transparent with their pricing or WHY they suddenly changed their pricing within a couple weeks of the initial appointment. Be aware!
CONFIRM your appointment before going in. I got a call the day before confirming my appointment time and still got double booked and had to wait 1 hr 40 min before being seen. Then it was 20 minutes til closing and im not sure if they had to rush but my dress was RUINED after alteration.
Do NOT alter your favorite wedding dress here, especially if it's not a David's Bridal dress. I brought in a designer dress from another store and they hemmed my dress 2 inches too short (photo attached) and never even ACKNOWLEDGED the mistake until I spoke with Courtney, the manager who was the first person to admit the hemming was done wrong. They told me I signed the "waiver" (which they lost), told me I'd be more comfortable in lower heels anyways, blamed it on the KIND of dress I had, and gave all sorts of excuses that I was very disappointed to hear after they messed up my favorite dress. I told them multple times that if they knew they couldn't hem my dress, I rather they told me than blame it on the "waiver" I signed or the type of dress upon ruining it. I was given a small refund for the hemming, but I still have to wear 2 inch heels which I am not excited about compared to the heels I had hoped to wear. Apparently if it's a DB dress, they can replace it for you, but no guarantees they'll do it on time. I personally had quite a lot of anxiety and picked my dress up before alterations were even complete. I hope to save many other brides from the experience I had and go to another alterations place.
If they say they'll give you a call back, MAKE SURE they do. I was told that on 3 separate occasions and never received a call back. Courtney, the store manager, was the only person that promised she'd call back and actually called me back.
If anything goes wrong, speak with Courtney, who has been very professional and helpful, making executive decisions to do what she can to try and compensate for their mistake.
Otherwise, good luck with all the wedding shenanigans to all the brides out there!!
Original post: Happy to see the reviews here are already amazing! Christina and Vecenta(?) were incredibly professional, knowledgeable, patient, and SO helpful with alterations today. Although their prices were very reasonable ($58 for first 3 points and $9/point after to bustle wedding dress), I was super indecisive with everything cuz this girls in a lot of debt from school !!! 😵💫 But they were very understanding and tried to work with me and my budget as much as possible. I also bought the cutest new shoes for only $48 and they readily applied applicable discounts for me at the front! They definitely didn't have to do that. I couldn't have been happier with my experience and know their business...
Read moreI first went to David’s Bridal on August 16th to have my wedding dress I had purchased from them altered. The measurements and pinning went great, and while there I made an appointment to pick the dress up on September 13th. I got a call on September 11th confirming my appointment. Then on September 12th was called and told they needed more time to alter the dress, which was fine. They said they only needed 1 week, so I made an appointment for 2 weeks to pick the dress up. My appointment was September 27. I got a confirmation call on the 25th and the 26th. I drove from Lake Havasu City, AZ to Henderson, NV, a 2 1/2 hour drive. When I got to the David’s Bridal, I was told the dress STILL was not ready, and they needed more time. I’m not mad that they needed more time with my dress. I was mad that after they told me they needed another week, after 2 weeks the dress wasn’t done and NO ONE communicated that with me before I went there to pick it up. Their excuse “we thought we’d be done before you got here.” I then was talked to by the manager, who promised it would be done the next day, and they would call to confirm it was done. I drove home. And the next day I had to call to confirm the dress was done. AGAIN, no communication. And then drove back to Henderson to pick up my dress. I want to add, the dress fits perfect and looks great. But the lack of communication which led to me getting upset, frustrated, and having to make 2 5 hour, round trip drives to Henderson in 24 hours was uncalled for. For the amount of money I spent on the dress and the alterations, there should have been communication on what...
