The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The male employee working at the front with shoulder length curly hair spoke so disrespectfully and condescending to me, I was shocked. When my family and I arrived I asked ages for kids prices. It was busy and loud and I heard him say “13”. I said great, my daughter is still 13. The older woman, who is a coward, said to him “she doesn’t look under 12” as she walked to the back. He then recanted and said so “3 adults and 1 child.” Confused I said no, and he the RIPPED into me. Told me it’s “simple English, what don’t you understand”. Then said I could pay or just get out. It was shocking and aggressive. A family behind me spoke to us afterwards and was also shocked by this. All the while the old woman cowered in the back listening to him berate me. I am a customer service manager and this would be grounds for termination. Clearly, he doesn’t know how to speak to people with any tact and should not be in a customer facing role. We had a great time at Pirate Island. Hilton Head for us is all about the beach and dining out, but you need something for your family to do during the day besides lounge by the pool. This is a great option! The owners are great people who are very welcoming and obviously take a lot of pride in running this establishment. Our kids range from 3-10 and each of them had a blast. Granted the three year old wasn't exactly playing by the rules, but there was no charge for him. The place is meticulously maintained. I didn't see a single pine needle on the walkways or greens, remarkable since there was a huge thunderstorm the night before. Not a tear in the turf on any of the holes. As far as the difficulty of the course, it's challenging enough, but not so hard kids get frustrated. Three of the six of us got holes-in-one (6 year old, 8 year old, and 38 year old). Sadly, I was not one of them. We really enjoyed the two hours we spent here and will make this a regular stop on our Hilton Head Vacation for years to come. My son's family is in town for a few days and wanted to go miniature golfing. Pirate's Island Adventure Golf is within walking distance of our home, so we set out on foot to try it out. On the way we got caught in a pretty intense downpour accompanied by a little thunder and lightning. But the silver lining is that by the time we started playing, the rain had almost stopped and because of the rain the courses were not crowded.

The golf facility has two courses, an easier course and a more challenging course. Since two young children were in our group, we chose the easier course. My observations of Pirate's Island are (1) the people running the place are very friendly; (2) the courses are very well maintained. Everything works and the greens are in good condition; (3) the place is beautiful with immaculately maintained landscaping, waterfalls, and lots of pirate-themed paraphernalia; (4) the place is clean; (5) the equipment is in very good shape; (6) ample parking is available.
