Salon Caru — Local services in Hoboken

I have been going to Caru for years now and I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things about it. I see Brittney Cowan and she is hands down the best!! I am always so happy with my hair And she is an expert with coloring and just knows what looks good on you! With COVID I have been extremely careful and have not gone many places since I have a young son. However, I really needed a haircut and after reading the detailed email of precautions I decided to go in. I felt so comfortable and safe going into the salon. Before I got there they sent a safety questionnaire. When I got there I called per the instructions and they told me I could come up. When I walked in they asked me to sanitize my hands and took my temperature. Everyone had masks on the entire time. They have stations closed so people are appropriately spaced out. The window was open and the fan was on to promote air flow circulation. After my cut and we went to the hair washing sink, Brittney sterilized it the minute I got up. Currently they are not blow drying based on data showing that prevents the spread, which I would rather take as many preventative measures. There are no assistants working to ensure the facility does not have extra people there. They stagger employee times and appointments so there was limited people in the salon. I don't know who gave so mant good reviews. Must be fake reviews. Honestly not at all place to spend lot of money. Super Cut is better than this. Staff and Hair dresser was too rude and rough. She was behaving as if she is obliging me by cutting my hair. She spoiled my hair and then she could not fix it. I went to Caru Salon to get my hair cut. While taking an appointment I clearly said that I need somebody who can give me suggestions on my hair cut style as I have very less hair growth. I was told ok to that and they said that Ashley will be taking care of my hair cut. By looking to reviews, I took half day from my office to go there which is 30 miles away from my office. I have never seen such an unprofessional person in my life. I told her same thing that I have very less hair growth so please give me your suggestions for the style She was too rude with me, did not give me any suggestions and spoiled my hair style. Then I showed her my one of the photo and told her to get the hair cut like that. Again she was too rude during hair cut and I showed the photo on counter desk while paying bill and ask that does this my photo and my current hair style is same? she said no. I just finished my second appointment today with Rosie and she does not disappoint!! Don't take it lightly when I say she's the best and most thorough hairstylist I've ever been too. I have curly hair so it's pretty difficult to find someone I can trust my hair with so I usually cut it at home (I go to a salon MAYBE once a year, if that). My first appointment was a month ago on my birthday (my trust was very high haha) and I got a balayage and a blowout. This year was pretty rough for me and it was hard to feel like myself so I was in desperate need for a change to pick me back up. I am not exaggerating when I say that I was holding back tears looking at the finished result. I felt beautiful!!! She was so kind and precise, redoing sectioning just to make sure she got it right and the confidence she had when doing my hair really put me at ease. Today I got a glaze and haircut and I will be coming back. I asked for it to be air dried and she sat there and brush styled/finger coiled it!! I'm not sure if this is normal for hairstylists to do, since the last salon I went to just scrunched gel in my hair and sent me off but putting in the extra effort was a happy surprise.
