Miself Beauty Care — Local services in Honolulu

Communication was super easy. If I had any questions that came up before my appointment, I could just text and they were quick in replying. Karen (the owner and the one who provides the treatments) provided parking directions ahead of time, which made it really easy to find the location and where to park. While Miself Beauty Care is located in Eaton Square, there is a specific parking garage that you need to park in as there is another one for the residents that live in the building. The same thing goes for elevators. One is specific for the residents (and locked to the public), so make sure to locate the elevators labeled as Commercial Lobby.

Miself Beauty Care is located on the 4th floor in Suite 401. The suite is shared with 3 other businesses. Karen was super sweet from the very first moment I met her. She brought me into the room and gave me a towel that I would wrap around myself after taking off my top. She excused herself so I could change, but came back promptly so we could get started.

The Skin Revival Bundle includes a HydroDiamond Facial, Dermaplaning Session, Anti-Aging LED Light Therapy and a Skin Revival Intro. Karen talks you through every step of the experience. She lets you know what she’s going to do and why she’s going to do that to your skin. I tried to understand whatever I could, but basically this session starts with cleansing your skin. Then comes the dermaplaning. This is where a scalpel is used to gently exfoliate the outer layer of your skin to reveal newer/brighter skin and remove fine facial hair to create a smoother surface. It was such a strange feeling at first, but I quickly got used to it. I enjoyed the cleansing between each treatment and the hot towel placed on my face each time as well. During the Anti-Aging LED Light Therapy, Karen massaged both of my arms. I think I might have knocked out during this part because I was so relaxed. There was a little more that she did at the end to close up the treatment to provide your skin with tons of hydration, but that was pretty much it in a nutshell. She also placed a hydrating lip balm on my lips that gave it a minty feel. I liked it so much I purchased one to take home with me before I left.

Karen provided me with a mini bottle of water and 2 free gifts. What a surprise! One of the gifts was the Idyllic Cleanser that she used at the start of the session and a Chocolate Masque with Enzymes.

Yay factor! Parking is validated for up to 2 hours, which should be enough for your session with Karen.

Make sure to ask if there are any post-treatment rules you need to follow before leaving. I forgot to ask, so I texted her later in the day and she provided me with the information. You may want to ask this ahead of time as I had a work event to attend the next day and would have booked this treatment on a day when I didn’t have anything planned the next day as one of the rules are that you are not supposed to wear make up for the next 48 hours.

Thank you Karen for an amazing experience both in treatment and customer service! I don’t know that my finances will allow me to come back as often as my skin would probably want, but I now know a great esthetician to both recommend to others and come back to when I want to want a tune up...

Finding someone who is skilled in a service is one thing but to also be understanding, nonjudgmental empathetic and not only in it for the money but to genuinely want to help you achieve the same results is hard. Karen makes me feel comfortable by listening to me share the skin concerns that make me feel pretty insecure being bare faced even around my husband.

I have gone to Karen at Miself Beauty Care twice wanting a service that would help with my following skin concerns… Darkening pigmentation (malasma) Enlarged pores Wrinkles Dry patchiness Firmness and elasticity.

For the second service Karen recommend to add on BioRePeel and that’s when I saw immediate results with texture, my pores were literally nonexistent!! I try my best not to sweat or do anything extensive after the facial so I can keep the products she used on my face till either at night or the next morning. I couldn’t stop looking at my skin!

Realistically my goal is to feel confident being bare faced and looking as refreshed for as long as possible.

I have never met anyone like Karen before. Not only is she a talented esthetician, she’s also a beautifully kind person. Getting a consultation was so helpful because no one has ever really explained WHY my skin is the way it is or exactly what is safe for it.
