Wow! What a cool gallery! I forgot how much I really love art until I walked in here with my son while we were on vacation. The artwork in the window caught our eyes, we were drawn in and greeted by Robert. Robert asked us what we like, what art we have on the walls and showed us around the gallery giving us knowledge of the artists and their background, medium used, techniques used etc. We were enjoying the 2 hours with Robert and gained a history lesson with the Dr. Suess pieces. We fell in love with quite a few of the artists but Dr. Suess was our most favorite since the story of the art was being explained in detail. We bought a 2 piece Dr. Suess companion set "Pinkish cat on a greenish pot" & " Greenish cat on a pinkish pot". They will hang in our living room until my son goes to college then he will have one and so will I to remember our trip together this summer. We cannot stop looking at all of the works of art the gallery has to offer Today we went back and met with Dali (not Salvador Dali lol) and purchased another Dr.Suess Suite! We are Ohana now! I can't wait to purchase so many more pieces of artwork. When I was younger, I loved art, as I grew up, I never found time to appreciate artwork and really didn't care about what was on the wall, in fact, the walls were pretty bare because nothing was grabbing my attention, I wasn't looking in the right place! I fell in love with art again during this trip and thank Robert and Dali so much for their time and expertise. We are very happy customers!...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Kaikoa Gallery. While walking around and admiring the artwork — as anyone would naturally do when visiting an art gallery — the man running the gallery rudely accused us of being “disrespectful” simply for taking our time to look at each piece. When we tried to explain that browsing is normal, especially for potential buyers, he dismissed us and arrogantly said he could “spot potential customers” and that we didn’t look like ones. Not only was this incredibly unprofessional and offensive, it completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable visit. Art galleries should be welcoming spaces, not places where you’re judged and disrespected. I would never recommend visiting Kaikoa Gallery based on...
Read moreI heard that Dr. Suess had a stash of paintings from an era prior to his success with children's books. From a time when he was close to Salvador Dali. Wow, these paintings are definitely great examples surrealism and you can see the influence Dali had on Ted. I bought the study, "Plethora of Cats" probably because at first glance it looked like he had an acid trip and grabbed the brushes......hahahaha. Spade, and his lovely companion Dali made the art exhibition exactly what you would expect at a high end gallery in the Hilton Resort. It was a great time, and I have a beautiful study to enjoy with a great story behind it. Robert was there, informative and funny. I'll be back for more art...
