Sushiman — Restaurant in Honolulu

Granted, we arrived at 5:45 and they close at 6, but the lady working the counter seemed very disinterested in taking care of us. She seemed very distracted and anxious to close. We quickly perused the menu and made three selections. She stated they were low on rice and may not be able to complete the order. Another woman came in five minutes before closing and the counter woman said they were closing. The lady explained she has been a regular customer. The counter woman responded with "We are out of rice." No, "I'm sorry, it's too close to closing" or "I'm sorry, we're not taking any orders now." or nothing to console the woman. Just a curt and uncaring response. I doubt the customer will return. I wouldn't. Anyway, we got the orders (complete) and took them home. I have eaten a lot of Sushi and this was mediocre at best. I've had better grocery store Sushi honestly and for a lot less money. Sorry Sushiman but it wasn't a pleasant experience. Won't be back and...

I ordered 3 California rolls for my son. They looked more like a seaweed burrito. Ok fine I must have ordered the wrong thing, even though I pointed to a picture. Went back to order the correct thing, I didn’t ask for my money back I just wanted a regular California roll for my kid. The lady was yelling “no return“ at me. She would not listen long enough to understand me. She told me they don’t have any crab other than crab salad with mayo in it. We showed her a picture of what we wanted on my phone. The attendant in the front was super nice and was patient with me while I looked at the menu to figure out what I wanted to order.

I ended up ordering the banana cream matcha latte and a beef don, but was a little sad that they didn't have anymore banana cream, but I was offered the pistachio cream instead.

OMG, the pistachio cream on the banana cream matcha was sooo good and I'm glad I ordered it!

The beef don was pretty good and worth the price:)

Heartbroken that they don't have a location on the Westside, but I would without a doubt make the drive for both the food and service🫶🏾
