New pho place to check out. It's on the corner across City Mill in Hawaii Kai Towne Center. It replaces Tex 808 who moved to Hawaii Kai Shopping Center. It's nice and spacious with tables spaced apart. I see a bar but I don't think people can sit there. There's two big screen TV playing movies. Service is a bit slow because there were a lot of people coming in to try and the staff was overwhelmed with checking vaccine cards, taking orders and serving the food, as well filling take out orders. Be patient folks- it's a new place dealing with a lot of new rules. We opted to take out since the tables were full and we live close by. So the food... I got the combo pho ($13.50) with steak, brisket, tendon, tripe and 3 meatballs. And of course the usual bean sprouts, basil and lemon. The noodles were nice and springy even after the trip home and there was a good portion of the topping. But the broth! It was so good! Very flavorful and light with a touch of sweetness. Just the right amount of salt, not overpowering which I appreciated since I'm trying to watch my dietary salt. Hubby had the lemongrass chicken and tofu ($12.50) but they were out of tofu so they substituted spring roll instead. Rice was jasmine- fluffy and soft. The chicken was good and grilled nicely but he felt it could've been a bit more seasoned. He gave it a thumbs up. So yes, we will be back to check out more of the menu. The server said that the house fried chicken was popular- maybe we'll get that the next time.

Tonight was our first experience at this restaurant and will be our last. Very poor experience! We used the QR code on the table to review the menu and pay for our order. Definitely I would NOT recommend doing this for three reasons: 1) it forces you to tip in advance of the meal. 2) a fee is added to the total cost of the order. 3) you cannot leave the restaurant and go elsewhere because you already paid. Our first 15 minutes in the restaurant was without water, but we couldn't leave because we already paid. We waited 52 minutes for a bowl of Pho, which is unacceptable by any standard. The employees were very kind, but the restaurant was seriously understaffed, so most of the tables in the restaurant were not cleaned (see photo) and the service was unacceptably slow. The Pho was average, nothing special, not bad, not great, but large portions. Although this place is very convenient and much needed in Hawaii Kai, our experience was so disappointing we will not return.

Saw this was a new business opening up so the family decided to give it a try. When we walked in, it was completely empty. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious. As we were eating, business picked up and people were getting take-out. We will definitely be back. One negative thing was they didn't have the thai tea and only had sprite as a soda option. Again still new so i can give them a pass on that. I think the spring rolls were my favorite. All the food had a lot of flavor. Great atmosphere too.

Honestly it was worst restaurant experience ever. I totally disappointed and felt disrespected.

When I came in to store, server said “to go?” like very rude attitude no smile but I answered “here” like normal. And server said “anywhere”.

And when I seated, no one came to my seat. And I realize there is QR code to order online so I thought this restaurant system is self service style so I started scan QR code to order and about to place order but looked like that QR code is for to go. I really confused.

So I wanted to ask question about order but servers were chatting, Also server didn’t server even water.

At that time I thought this restaurant is self services style. I was waiting for several but they never showed up, of course no water.

Water and water cups were just in side of me, and looked like self service one since I misunderstood this restaurant style is self service style( I experienced those kind of restaurants in Hawaii a lot) and a few water containers put in there and bunch of water cups put in there too. So I poured my water.

Then finally woman server approached me and said “Don’t touch water” rude attitude twice.

1, No severs come to my seat 2, there were self order QR code at the table 3, looked like self service water

Because of those three points, I misunderstood. But servers treated me like weird guy, and said “Don’t touch water” . If I do server for customer, I say “sorry for late service. but server will be right with you soon, so please have a seat.” At least I say “please don’t touch my water” but she said “don’t touch water” like rude attitude.

After that woman servers talked to men server and laughed about it.

Finally I got a Pho, men server served me like throw dishes, that made big sound and felt like so disrespectful. Also he forgot to serve spoon so I couldn’t taste soup. And asked him like “Can I have spoon?” He throw that too, which was so uncomfortable.

After that men server talked to other customer loud voice and laughed long time, which is acceptable for me(but I think it’s not professional one) unless he brought me check and to-go box.

And women server ate food inside of restaurant in front of customer on business hour, I felt like very wired.

I checked every customer’s review, other customer mentioned this point, Also several review said customer support were terrible.

That’s why I rated 1 star for you guys. I totally uncomfortable and felt disrespect. I will never go back again, never ever.

I often go 53 by the sea, signature prime like fine restaurant. They are really professional so I always tipping around 30% but this experience I...

Food is awesome. But the way that the staff seats people is ridiculous. They "Reserve" larger tables that seat 6. On more than one occasion, we have gone there with 3-4 people and all of the smaller tables were full. NONE of the large tables were being used and we were told that we would have to wait to sit in the smaller tables (1-4 people) I asked if we could sit at a large table, they said no because they reserve them for larger parties.

Tonight, we went with 5 people. All of the large tables were full. Some of the large tables that were being used had only 2 or 3 people sitting at them.

Four smaller tables that sit 1-4 people were open and not being used. We were told to wait for a large table to open up. I asked if we could sit there, or even move tables together. They said no and blamed it on the owner, "Hong". We watched 4 seperate groups all be seated at the smaller tables before us, while we waited for a large table.

It seems that we can't sit with large groups, But we can't sit with small groups either. I give up and refuse to play the game of trying to figure out when we can be sat and how many people with us will be the "magic number" to be seated.

We walked out. Won't...
