I have been here before and loved it but this time was extremely disappointing. I booked for a regular polish pedicure. When I checked in they asked if I was sure I didn’t want gel. I said I was sure I wanted regular polish. She showed me shelves with colors to choose from. It was a limited selection but not terrible. However, most of the bottles appeared to be almost empty. I couldn’t find what I wanted so I showed the tech a pic of basic light pink nails (OPI “honeymoon”). She said they could do that in gel. I again said I don’t want gel, do you have regular polish similar to this. She found a color that was close enough and we proceeded. She did a great job with everything until we got to the polish. She didn’t paint the nails all the way to the edges so it looked like my nails had already grown out some and the color was uneven like not enough polish or coats were applied. I told her I didn’t like it and asked her to redo it. She said she ran out of that polish and I needed to pick a different color or I had to get gel. They didn’t have anything else close to that color and I still didn’t want gel. At this point I felt like they were just trying to force me to get gel. I asked her to just skip the color because I would just end up removing it. She offered to paint a base coat and I agreed. Then when she was removing the toe separators she smudged both my big toes and didn’t offer to fix. I was frustrated at this point and just didn’t say anything. They did reduce the price of the pedicure since I didn’t get any color and yes I still tipped but the whole experience was just disappointing. I won’t be going back unless they get more...
Read moreI love getting my pedicures done here! Their fun and cute monthly special designs are one of my favorite things about this salon. I’m not a very creative person when it comes to nail art, so I always get excited whenever they post their new monthly specials!
They specialize in Japanese gel, and their work is always high-quality. The salon itself is super clean, modern, and well-maintained. I also love how close it is to my house—the area is safe, easy to walk to, and very convenient.
For the most part, I’ve had really great technicians. Chloe and Maria are both amazing, super sweet, and very skilled at what they do. There was one rude employee I had a bad experience with, but the salon was very accommodating when I requested not to be scheduled with her. The management team handled the issue quickly and professionally and has ensured I don’t run into that situation again.
Despite that one negative encounter, my overall experiences here have been great, and I will continue to come back! Highly recommend this salon for their professionalism, cleanliness, and quality...
Read moreI had an early morning appointment at Walea. When I walked in, the receptionist was on pretty rude, and it was a zero welcoming environment. When I sat down to do my nails, she did not ask my what kind of nail design I wanted, which prompted me to show her the design I wanted. The nail tech was quiet for two hours while I was there, and while it’s not an absolute requirement for nail tech to have a conversation with their client, it was just awkward because my hands weren’t free and I couldn’t even look at my phone. After two hours of silence and it was time to pay, she abruptly told me that next time when I book an appointment I have to ask for a design, WHICH I SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR when I was on the phone to ask for an appointment. Maybe she should’ve communicated that with me if she thought I asked for a different service? The whole experience honestly just left really bad taste in my mouth.
