HiLights Hair Salon and Day Spa — Local services in Hood River

This was the WORST EXPERIENCE ever!!! I called the salon and set up manicures and pedicures for my three neices, myself and my sister-in-law to have a bonding experience before my son's wedding. We got to the salon at the appointed time and were informed we were only allowed to have either a manicure or a pedicure. Barb and Sacher gave us our service and were pleasant enough. We tried to make the best of it. The salon is terribly run. I had also made appointments for us to have our hair done and my makeup done for my son's wedding the next day. I called in the morning to make sure we would not be disapppointed again. They had an answering machine stating we should leave a message and they would get back to us, which they did not! I left two messages asking to be called back to let us know if we needed to do anything like have our hair clean and dry. No one called us back. We arrived 1/2 hour early to make sure we could get in. Nanette was beyond rude to me telling me she only works on clean hair and we should have known to have that done and we should all be wearing button down shirts. Then she said that she was running late and might not be able to do us all! THIS IS MY SON'S WEDDING DAY!!! I was OUTRAGED!!! We went home and I called to say we would not be coming back. Nanette actually had the unmitigated gall to call me to say she felt she should be paid for doing nothing!!!!!! I made these appointments 6 months in advance and called back two weeks before the appointment to varify. This place is a disasater. It was the only bad experience surrounding my son's nuptuals....

I have been going to Foils since the day it opened. Brigette, the owner has been doing my hair for over 20 years. She trained under a color specialist in Portland. She is one the top colorist in Hood River. She has an amazing Salon. I read the other reviews and I am very disappointed. The beautician that caused such grief in the Salon no longer works there. That is not a true reflection of the environment. It seems as if only disgruntled customers write reviews here on google. I am sure that if all the happy and very pleased customers were to write they would more than outweigh the negative. As I have said before I am more than a one time customer, I have been going to this Salon since it opened. I know several very known residents of Hood River who only go to Brigette and some the most particular clients only go to this Salon. Barb who also works there does THE BEST Foot Reflexology, facials, manicures and pedicures. I would know because I am one of the most picky of customers.

From a Long Standing and Satisfied...

I took my 18 yr old daughter in for a last minute haircut with Tammy Pauley and then she waxed her eyebrows. My daughter has long hair and showed a picture of Heidi Klum’s hair and she came out with Heidi Klum’s hair minus the blond. 😊

We both just love it. And her brows looked clean, nicely defined ,and redness was short lived.

The sculpture in the back was a surprise and beautiful. Gorgeous. I am so happy with the cut and my daughter is even happier. It is a beautiful and youthful style. It is very hard to find someone to cut long hair well and even harder to find someone who looks at a picture and knows how to do...
