UPDATE: Iāve been coming to this salon since my original review and now a Iām a regular of Maya. Since I didnāt mention her in my original I knew I needed to do a shoutout just for her. Sheās an AMAZING stylist. Sheās been doing my balayage for almost 2 years now and my pink as well. She also recently did my bangs and they could not have come out better. Maya takes so much time with bleach foils and does such small sections that it looks like your natural hair, just better haha. She is also super sweet, welcoming and easy to talk to. Wonāt go anywhere/to anyone else unless I move. Her insta is @justmayahair Photos are 2 days after appointment with no wash at home. Appointment was for a full balayage + pink, and bang trim. I had a full cut 2 weeks before with Maya as well.
ORIGINAL: I went here for the first time today and had such an amazing experience! I have extra long hair and had a wash, treatment, bang trim and blow dry/style and my total was only $75. Vina took great care of my hair, gave a great scalp massage & took time to blow dry and style it very well! I have psoriasis and informed her beforehand and she took extra care to avoid putting extra product on my scalp and washed it well, always checking to make sure I was comfortable. The treatment worked really well on my dry ends and I could tell a difference almost immediately. Katie did a quick trim of my curtain bangs and they turned out the perfect shape and length. The space is very open and chill. Everyone that was working was very nice. Iāve been to many other salons all over before and itās hard sometimes for me to find a place thatās not overwhelming or intimidating when a lot of the time you have to sit there for hours. But I was very comfortable in this place and will definitely come back when Iām in town. The service and prices are better than some of the more reviewed salons in Houston. Absolutely check this place out if youāre looking for somewhere new or just want a really nice wash...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGuyssssss.. I have been through a journey with my hair. I canāt even begin to describe the trauma I have had with paying hundreds of dollars at expensive salons, just to end up spending another hundred dollars in products to go over it with Sally Beauty or box dyes.
I have always shared inspo photos and struggled with other stylists listening to my desires for keeping my length and giving me non-ashy blonde tones. I always ended up with short hair and/or exactly what I didnāt want. Iāve never found anyone who listened enough to what I envisioned for my hair.
I let my hair grow out for the last two years and have been so nervous to try again. I found Patricia and Alchemy Salon on IG/Google and the reviews were great. Not going to lie, I was nervous since I didnāt see a lot of her work on her page but I just had a good feeling and decided to give it a go. Full transparency, I almost cancelled multiple times leading up to my appointment. Lol the trauma was real.
From the minute I walk in, Vina was sooooo sweet and welcoming. Offered me beverages multiple times (they had mimosas!) and always made sure I was comfortable.
Patti talked me through all my fears, my hairsā history and eased my anxiety pretty quickly. I fought myself to trust the process and the whole way she was always checking on me. She gave me exactly what I wanted and Vina finished my hair off with the most amazing styling/waves. šš¤
In the end.. it all paid off! I am beyond thrilled with my hair, the service and with the entire experience. Iām definitely a lifelong customer.
Iām so happy I didnāt give up on my hair journey. If youāve been burned by salon trauma.. give Patti a shot. Her and Vina definitely helped...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had been looking for a conveniently located salon and came across Alchemy Salon. I was excited to try them out since they offer curly cut services. However, I found it odd that I was required to sign a contract for a hair salon, but I quickly understood why after my first cut.
I received a curly cut from one of their level 2 stylists. I was not happy with the end result but gave the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was just poorly styled. Unfortunately, when I washed and styled my own hair, I realized I had received the worst haircut Iāve ever gotten anywhere. The right side of my hair was visibly longer than the left, and there were several long stray chunks of hair sticking out from the bob I had requested.
I had an event the next day and had to cut out several long pieces to make it semi-presentable for that evening. I reached out to the salon and exchanged emails with the owner. She told me that, per their policy (the contract), I would have to return to the same stylist who botched my hair or pay full price for another cut.
I communicated my lack of confidence in and unwillingness to go back to the same stylist, but both she and her team insisted that if I chose a different stylist, including the salon owner herself, I would be charged full price to fix the terrible haircut I received from one of their stylists. I was shocked by this awful customer service and will not be returning.
I urge anyone seeking a curly cut to be very careful when...
