The instructions aren’t clear online & trying to speak to someone is impossible. Their # is an automated system that is not helpful. After repeated attempts I was able to speak to a live person. She was able to confirm my appt. & informed me of where to make my cash payment for the renewal of my Ecuadorian passport. You have to do this prior to your appt. That info. is not listed on their website. Also, if you’re trying to reach someone call after 1:30 p.m. they’re closed to the public, but there may be someone available at that hour to answer calls. The following steps are what I took to finalize the process:

2. pay $90 cash (Ecuador passport renewal fee, verify your exact cost) at Trustmark Bank - 5799 San Felipe St. Houston, Tx. 77057 - bring receipt w/you to present at your appt.
3. if you don’t live in Houston, Tx. you can have the consular mail your passport to you. Prior to your appt go to the post office & prepay for a Priority Mail envelope. I went to the post office located @ 2950 Unity Dr. Houston, Tx. 77057. Let the cashier know you’re purchasing the envelope for passport purposes at the Consular. On the FROM part of the envelope you’ll write the complete address for The Ecuador consular off Augusta Dr. in Houston, Tx. Then on the receiver/send to you’ll fill in YOUR address. I recently had the pleasure of renewing my Ecuadorian passport at the Consulate of Ecuador in Houston, and I cannot express how satisfied I am with the entire process. From start to finish, my experience was smooth, efficient, and stress-free.

First and foremost, the staff at the consulate were exceptionally courteous and professional. Once inside the consulate, I was impressed by the organized and clean environment. The waiting area was comfortable, and I didn't have to wait long before being called to the service counter. The consulate staff processed my renewal application efficiently, and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the whole process was completed.

Very prompt service. We had to reschedule our appointment due to travel changes and they quickly responded to our email and helped us schedule an appointment for the next day. In and out in less than one hour for a passport renewal and a notary document. They were very knowledgeable about the logistics and rules for the notary document I needed.
