Let me first say, my massage tharapist was GREAT! I have no compliants about her. However, the company itself -- I am NOT happy with. (1) About a month ago, I called to see if I could schedule an appointment, and the lady who answered the phone was extermely rude. I honestly I do not think she understood much English. She kept hanging up in my face. I called 4-5 times and she literally kept hanging the phone in my face, and she seemed extremely confused, but more so just rude. Now, I understand there could have been a communicaiton barrier.
HOWEVER, you DO NOT hang the phone up becuse you do not understand or don't speak English well. You ask the person to please hold on (or to please call back after a certain time if you are inadequate or uncapable of handling a request due to communication or for some other reason) and give the phone to someone who can better assist them. This is BASIC customer service 101. I wanted to complian to management, but I simply decided at that time to let it go.
(2) Fast forward to today - July 5, 2024-- I called on the 4th to make an appointment for a 1 hour massage with no issues. I confirmed my appointment the next day after they sent me a text in the AM on the 5th. I showed up 20 minutes early for my appointment (they asked that you show up 15 mins early) - no issues, I waited until my appointment.
About 5 minutes after arriving, a white lady appeared after her service(s) and made her payment and was asked if she wanted to tip ect. Then about 5 minutes before my actual appointment, the lady at the front desk demanded that I put a card on file for future appointments (she said it was a policy they were now enforcing). Mind you--I've been to this place twice so far outside of today---both times I've scheduled an appointment and I showed up for said appointments on time without incident.
This was my 3rd visit, howwever, every single time I made an appt, I showed up for it, so now.... randomly this lady at the front desk is asking to put a card on file- 5 minutes before my appoinment, although I had already checked in and had been just calmly sitting and waiting for my turn.
Immediately, I am feeling defensive because as mentioned before, the times I've come there (twice before), I've always shown up for appointments and made payments without a problem.
Now, all of a sudden right before my appointment, a card on file IS required and it's their policy, which clearly the white lady I spoke of before was not under said same policy.
I told her (receptionist) I was not comfortable putting my card on file. She then wanted me to make payment up front, which I did without issue, but I assure you--- they will NEVER see me there again or anyone referred there with the likes of me.
I get you want to make sure people show up for their appointments, but as to not look like pompous aholez--don't do that to good paying customors who have been there before and always show up for said appointments and pay without an issue AND hold everyone to the same standard.
Do it to the new clients or those who have shown they are lack luster in character where there is actual reason to do so. You've lost a good client who will not be referring anyone there for any...
Read moreFrom the very first moment that you enter you are immediately immersed in a world of relaxation and tranquility. You are greeted by a warm smile and outstanding customer service that makes you want to come back again and again! Also, the mimosas, and chocolates make it a dream come true. The center itself is always clean and well-kept with lots to do such as the sauna which is next on my list.
In all honesty I was confused and scared the first time I got a massage at a different place in Houston but at Thai Massage and Day spa I was treated like family instantaneously. It was recommended by a friend, and I was very worried about experiencing something similar. The receptionist (Millie) took her time explaining all the variety of massages, facials, and extras (such as hot stones) that you can add to your day of relaxation. She was very patient and helpful even when I asked a surplus of questions, she remained calm and polite. I definitely think that her composure provided a sense of security for me to let my guard down and actually get excited for massage instead of worried. After the hour was over all I could think is that I should have definitely listened to Millie and added more time to my massage because it was excellent.
To my surprise this spa changed by my mind and perspective on massages. Not only was I not scared anymore but I learned something new! I know understand the benefits of a massage and the importance of communicating with your therapist to receive the best massage ever. My shoulder and lower back were always so tense due to my job, but Sonia made all that stress and knots disappear. After just one session I knew I had to keep coming back for the Thai and Swedish combo massage with hot stones, and CBD, the perfect choice for my body.
Even if you frequent other massage/day spas trust me there is no other business that compares to the professionalism and years of experiences that Thai Massage and Day Spa upholds, it is without a doubt a must try for your relaxation needs. Thai Massage and Day Spa is truly a hidden gem in Houston. * 12/10 recommended *
Update: I recently went in for a couple massage with my partner and had Ricardo and Nicole work on us. I highly recommend them for deep tissue massages and loved how soothing it was. I was so calm and relaxed that a drifted off to sleep. It was a great way to spend our anniversary together and both agreed this place is amazing! 100% a...
Read moreAfter extensive research I decided to go ahead and pull the pin and give Thai Massage and Day Spa a try. Up until this point I have not found a spa suitable to the last spa I was going to before I moved. I believe in energies, and you can't have just anyone working on you. I visited the establishment Jan. 25th, 2025. It was a nice calm cloudy day in Houston, the perfect weather for a massage. I pulled up about 5-10 min or so before my appointment. I was greeted by two lovely ladies at the front (I am sorry for not getting their names). The ambiance was delightful, calm, welcoming, I loved this first impression. I filled out a short form and soon after was escorted to my room. My room was clean and calming. My massage therapist was Alicia, she was very sweet and applied the right amount of pressure, she did a wonderful job. I chose the 1-hour Swedish massage, I felt so much better afterward. When my session was done, I went to the front to settle up, I was offered a beverage, I refused at first but then the sweet ladies up front convinced me. So, I chose the tea with honey (my favorite actually) but here is the gag though, they have an actual sitting room to enjoy your beverage and just relax. I sat down put my phone down and picked up a magazine and sat there, it was the most calming and positive experience I have had in a long time. Needless to say, I have found the spot to get my monthly massages. If you are looking for a Massage/ Spa in the area, check them out, visit their website for other useful...
