BE CAREFUL with FACILITY FEE!!
Everyone needs to be very careful with this place! I came here for office visits consultation for specialist. For my insurance, I need to pay copay for specialist visits. I understand that but this place didn't collect it but they said they collected facility visit. I asked them I should only pay the copay for specialist but they said this was the amount that you have to pay for today visit so I thought this amount was including my copay so I just paid. They didn't explain anything until I received a separate bills from Baylor from the same Dr that I met at this place. So I was confused and called the office to ask why I got these bills from another hospital and the staff cannot answer because they're from scheduling department so they transferred me to billing department and they said because I saw this Dr at St. Luke(this place)so whatever I paid there were " facility fee" and my Dr is under Baylor so I also have to pay for the copay. I was like" heh?"but I only saw this Dr from 1 location. I didn't see this Dr at Baylor though. So I asked both departments " so from now on, if I want to see this Dr, I have to pay for 2 facilities?" And guess what, they dodged my question and answered " oh I can't answer you that, it depends on how your insurance covers". So weird, this is the first time I heard about" have to pay for facility fee". I mean they didn't explain to me at all at the beginning. If they collected both copay and facility fee at the same time, then I maybe understand but they didn't. The billing department said this place collect different on Commissionspirit account and Baylor has their different account to collect so they cannot show at the same. I was like then you should explain to patient about this though. Moreover, they told me to come to this place to see this Dr so I only know the Dr office is here. I didn't know she's under Baylor and now I have to pay different amount. So for that being said, you need to check if your Dr is from another facility or not because you will have to pay "FACILITY FEE" without knowing it. In addition, if you guys do CT scan here, need to double check because it takes time for them to have results until I have to call CT department directly myself and figured out that my CT was still pending and the CT tech said it was the radiologist didn't read my CT scan yet and nobody did anything, even the staffs nor the Dr. Until, I called the CT department and the tech there helped me contact upper boss to fix it, by then, the Dr's office contact me about the result and acted like nothing happened. Very...
Read moreI have tried multiple times in clearing my son's account. He is a cancer patient who is in remission. So, my son applied for financial assistance and turned in everything that was requested. We waited, because apparently it takes 45 days. Well, I decided to call, because we hadn't heard anything. Come to find out, the phone number and the fax number is WRONG on the application form! I was transferred 5 times before I can actually talk to someone who gave me the correct numbers. My son and I both talked to financial assistance. First, they couldn't fine his application, then, they claimed he did not turn in the required documents. (Which is a LIE) Finally, they found it, but apparently he had to redo the WHOLE application again, because it was faxed to the wrong number. Can't tell you how angry I was. I told them, " Why should he redo the whole application again, when it's your fault for not having the correct phone and fax numbers on the application in the first place?" They couldn't answer me and said , "Well, he's just going to have to redo it and fax it to the correct number." So, today they call my son and have the audacity to say about putting him on a payment plan?! My son is a student and that was explained to them. Talking about pissed! JCAHO needs to know about them, because they have people that don't know what they're doing and they DO NOT update their forms! I have attached a photo of the application with the WRONG numbers. The CORRECT ones are: Financial Assistance Phone Number: 844-286-5546 Fax Number: 469-803-4627.
They show NO EMPATHY and don't correct what is wrong
UPDATE: I called and still nobody understands. Son is in remission, college student, I don’t understand what the problem is. They want us to reach out (I did), but someone who knows what they’re actually doing needs to call us. His “balance” was sent to...
Read moreI could not recommend a better place to receive treatment for breast cancer than the Dan L. Duncan cancer facility. The gut punch news that I had breast cancer in January from my gynecologist after my routine mammogram was terrifying. My doctor recommended Dr. Stacey Carter and the team that she works with . Her PA Logan Healy called me the same afternoon and they worked me in a few days later. We were bombarded with so much information at once but all the team was very patient and very responsive to questions we asked . The entire facility from the imaging department to the breast cancer group is amazing. I had lumpectomy surgery in February and ended up needing reconstructive surgery as well - Dr. Marco Maricevich performed the reconstruction and he did a great job and his group is wonderful also - shout out to Alex and Katie his PA’s - I am still seeing them for post surgery care because of a healing issue on the cancer breast . I have seen the radiation oncologist Dr. Shelley Sharma to get ready to begin a short radiation cycle and that department is also great! I have also had an appointment with the breast oncologist Dr. Julie Nangia and she was very patient with our questions and about the medication that I would need to take for the next several years . I feel very blessed that I was directed to this team and facility and the care that I have received from them. I’m so grateful that the cancer has been removed and for the next steps to make sure it stays that way !! Thank you thank you to all involved in this...
