Sorry, but they should tell you before you check out that there is a 4% fee on every purchase unless you pay cash. If I would have known I may have made a different decision. I called and spoke to the manager and she said they have a sign at the register. I gave her my feedback that whoever is processing the purchase should verbally let the customer know before they pay. NOT COOL. Seriously. And she wasn't very empathetic with me over the phone. I just don't like that type of service because you never get that 4% back. Just beware. Take cash if you want to buy something at this store. Otherwise, I had a very nice experience while in the store. I just didn't see the sign about a 4% fee or anything like that. They have a lot of stuff at the cash register but they think every customer will see this, come onnnnnn! I am sure it is probably there but I didn't see it and only figured it out once I got home and looked at the receipts. The smaller credit card receipt says one total and the detailed receipt has another total. I paid $9 extra dollars on a jacket that cost $219+taxes because I didn't know to even pay with cash. The associate said there is a sign. I’m sorry, but this is unethical. As a consumer, I should not be responsible for your operating expenses. I asked to return the item and was told only store credit! I don’t understand how this is acceptable, ethical, or OK. I told the associate there that having a totally different policy than other boutiques in the area much less the city should be blatantly mentioned to all purchasing customers. Of course, it was not discussed with me. Poor training and customer service!
In sales, I would never make a sale and then tell the customer who has a concern, “Sorry there is a sign.” Completely grossed out. My review starts with a last minute decision to go to a wedding, I needed a shirt, I'm a man you're probably thinking why I'm leaving a review here, you shall see. My wife obviously needed, or should I say, wanted a dress. She found one here and told me how great they treated her. She picked the dress, tried it on :) she looked spectacular! We purchased the dress. On the way out I told her I need to go to the cleaners to get my shirt steamed.. since last minute, she tells me they have one here at Hemline. I looked at those gorgeous eyes of hers and told her, I am a boy! I assumed since a girls store they would not. Lol but they did it with a smile on their face! Definitely told my wife to keep going here! Great service and the dress looks amazing! Can't wait...
