I booked a ticket from Dallas to Houston on Red Coach- and then looked at all the reviews. Haha- they are not good. So, it was with some trepidation that I approached this trip. So, one leg of the journey down and here is my experience, so far: The online reservation system was decent and the app easy to navigate. 😁 Finding the actual address of the bus stops inside the app was frustrating. šŸ™„ The communication is good. There is a bus tracker in the app- between the tracker and emails- you stay informed. 😁 The bus was 30 minutes late. There isn’t really anywhere to wait (and it was raining) Ugh. 🤨 The trip isn’t luxury- I’m not sure why they are using that as a marketing message. But, it doesn’t need to be- I just need to get from point A to point B in a safe environment and in with basic comfort. Safety seemed fine. So, on to the comfort- the loading and unloading of the bags into the bottom of the bus. Self Serve. Fine for me; more of a problem if you have accessibility issues- although the customers seemed to help each other. Seats were just fine and there is a small bathroom on the bus. (Not that I will ever check out that feature! šŸ˜…) The only uncomfortable part for me was the baseboard heat (see picture) it was fine for a bit, then it just got hotter and hotter. My foot and leg felt like they were being cooked. 😫After about an hour of increasing discomfort, I got up to talk to the driver- several people along the way made the same comments. The bus driver was very gracious and said he could fix it, but not until we stopped at a gas station. (He had to fix it under the bus?!?) Anyway, it got resolved eventually and temperature slowly returned to normal- but I got off the bus a sweaty mess. 😣. All in all, I got to Houston. I was safe. It was comfortable once the heating issue was resolved. I will take the ride back. šŸ˜… I will keep everyone posted about the return trip… fingers crossed.

Extremely rude bus driver. He was sitting in the bus and watching something on his phone … I approached him to ask him what time will he let me, my wife and our two daughters in. He rudely responded by saying that it’s his resting time and that I ā€œneed to walk back and stand next to the wall until he opens the doorā€. I told him that he didn’t have to be rude and he shut the door on me. I walked back to my family and to my surprise, he walked up behind me to confront me. He got up close and asked ā€œhow would you feel if I disturbed your resting timeā€ to which I responded that I did not know it was as his resting time and all I wanted to do is ask him what time he was going to let us on the bus. Anyways … when it was boarding time, he refused to let us on the bus. I took my family and stood at the corner of Dallas/Travis to figure out our next steps. He then said something to the rest of the passengers waiting outside the bus and they all were looking at us. That definitely was not only inappropriate but infuriated me. I called Customer Service twice … and was told that the driver was willing to let bygones be bygones if I was willing to apologize. I laughed at the rep and told him ā€œno thanksā€. I simply booked a one-way car rental via Hertz from Louisiana Street location for $43.66. Never will I ever even think about traveling by Red Coach. And they need to fire this driver, he will only hurt their business. Help me make him famous!!

RedCoach offers a generally comfortable and affordable long-distance bus experience, prioritizing passenger space. Pros: * Comfortable Seating: The large, deeply reclining seats (especially in Business and First Class) with ample legroom are the main draw. * Amenities: Features like footrests, power outlets, and Wi-Fi are typically available. * Good Value: Often cited as a great, budget-friendly option compared to flying or driving. Cons: * Inconsistency: Service can be hit or miss, with common complaints about occasional delays, inconsistent Wi-Fi/outlets, and varying levels of bus cleanliness. * Customer Service: Some report difficulty when issues or cancellations arise. Overall, it's a solid choice for a relaxing ride if you can be flexible with potential schedule variances. The reclining comfort usually makes the trip worthwhile.

A disappointment from the start. I’ll start with the Best Part, the downtown Houston stop sits in front of a Starbucks and Marriot. This was the most luxury experience there was about this trip. So, a bit about me. I’m active-duty military and I believe work is work even if you don’t like your job. I NEVER EVER write a review unless I believe it’s a noteworthy experience, I’ve written maybe 6 in my life and this is the second negative one. Route 9114 from Houston to Dallas on RedCoach, DATE: 8/19/23…. From the start. Boarding was to start at 0915 with a departure of 0930. The bus didn’t arrive until 0928 and when it did the driver passed everyone and stops at the corner down the street, not horrible but annoying because, the temp was approaching 100 degrees and we were already hot and sweaty from waiting an extra 13 mins in record breaking heat. A late boarding and now we must walk with our luggage to fetch the bus. Next the passengers had to self-load their luggage, still not horrible but you can’t call this luxury or even service at this point. When I got to my assigned seat, I found old subway trash (I mean big noticeable trash, the bag and the sandwich wrapper) in the storage area, the one area you would check for trash. If you’d check for trash between trips. Now we are looking at the lack of cleanliness. Poor service and nasty, but that’s not how I ended up writing this review. I’m writing this review because there is nothing else to do, NO WIFI, NO TV and NO WORKING POWER outlets. NONE of the things the company advertised, nothing worked. My phone is dying and I need it charged enough to communicate with my ride when I arrive at the bus drop off point, So, I have my laptop and being resourceful decided to plug my dying phone into my computer………. And viola’, decided this over hyped passenger vessel deserved a review. Here's my take on it, aside from the restroom that doesn’t have water to wash your hands, I might as well have taken a school bus (again… NASTY).

For those who are wondering, I asked the bus driver if he could tun the outlet power on. He said he didn’t control the power and it was hit or miss. It was a total miss, other passengers told me they didn’t have power either and I check 4 empty seats. I don’t believe it was much of a concern to the bus driver since the lack of power didn’t interrupt his personal phone conversation.

I had a horrible experience with RedCoach, traveling from Houston to Austin: my bus never showed up!! My bus to Austin from Katy was supposed to leave at 5:30. I arrive 20 minutes before and waited for the bus. At 5:40, I noticed a bunch of passengers and I were still waiting for the bus. We received no text or email saying that the bus was going to be delayed. I contacted customer service to see if they could let me know where the bus was. I checked on the website to see if I could track the bus and it said that function was unavailable. I waited 30 minutes, and no bus arrived. We received no text, call, email or any communication regarding when the bus was going to come and what was going on. This is very disappointing and unprofessional!!!! Around 6 PM, a bus arrived- me and the other passengers approached the bus, the bus driver said that this was a RedCoach vehicle and that he only had 10 seats open on the bus. There must've been a crowd of 40 people trying to get onto the bus. I talked to the person next to me and they told me that they were supposed to takeoff from the same pick up point at 4:50 and their bus never came. Us 40-50 confused passengers, were trying to figure out if the bus that arrived was meant to pick up the 4:50 Departure passengers. The bus driver said that he didn't know anything that he was very confused and overwhelmed and that he needed to make a phone call. We were all frustrated, tired, annoyed that NO ONE told us what was going on and the bus driver seemed like he didn't know anything. A customer should not have to wait for HOURS with no communication from Redcoach as to where my bus is. When I finally got through to someone from the Whatsapp text Customer Service feature, I was told the bus was coming- they sent the message at 7:06PM that my ā€œbus will be picking up passengers from that service. The monitoring department will send a notification in a few minutes. It is ridiuculous to send a message TWO HOURS LATER with no explanation as to what happened, what bus they were sending, when it would arrive. No one from the ā€œMonitoring Departmentā€ followed up with me ever. It is clear you guys do not care about your customers and I will never use RedCoach again. I would give this company negative stars if I could. They are very shady, lack professionalism, and did not deliver what was sold to me as a customer. Do...

3/6/2024 I was in line ready to board the 9:30 AM bus at UTD Richardson location to load my 1 bag and a small styrofoam cooler, when the bus driver pointed at me to put my bag underneath the baggage compartment. I told him I have been a passenger for two years and this is the first time I was told I couldn’t carry my bag with me. I did place my styrofoam cooler in the compartment and was reluctant to put my bag underneath since it was an open bag without a zipper. He immediately raised his voice and proclaimed rudely, ā€œThis is my bus and you do not have to ride. You can LEAVE !ā€ I put my bag underneath the compartment and told him he was a rude man. Again he reiterated loudly and ill mannered, ā€œThis is my bus. Do not call me rude. You do NOT ride my bus.ā€ I countered, ā€œ I have a paid ticket and I must get home to my sick mom. This is an emergency situation.ā€ I ignored his unkind and combative behavior and turned to walk on the bus . He again, raised his voice and yelled, ā€œLook at me! Do not get on the bus! LEAVE !!ā€ I calmly told him in an even voice and boarded, ā€œI have already put my bag on the bus.ā€ When I settled in and hoped to smooth things over, I approached the driver, ā€œI hope you understand, my bag is open and I wanted my things beneath the seat.ā€ He interrupted me, ā€œWhere are you from?ā€ And he proceeded to explain how he left a passenger behind because she didn’t follow his rules. I did not know the purpose of his question or his story. This entire interaction was both baffling and unhinged that left me with a bitter distaste. The driver’s attitude on how to interact with passengers is far below a courteous manner, incites irrational aggression, and yells ā€œLeave!ā€ is extremely unprofessional. The bus ride is fine , but I have never experienced such aggressive behavior from a RED COACH driver wanting to leave a passenger behind without just cause. Keep in mind , there is space above the seats and beneath the seats for bags. Hence, I leave a 3...
