This was my first experience at the theatre. I had an amazing time. From the time I entered, I was welcomed very warmly. They have an inside waiting area in front of the doors where you can wait until about 30 minutes before showtime. Thru you can go and take your seat. In waiting area there are refreshments that you can purchase. But you must eat them before sitting because it’s not allowed in the actual theatre part. There is a garage directly across the street from the theatre. It’s $20 card only. You just walk from the garage, cross the train tracks in the middle and go directly into the theatre. Very convenient. The dress code is somewhat casual. Some were more dressed up. But a large amount of people wore jeans. Now the actual play in itself was outstanding. No actor stood out more than another. Because each actor, gave their absolute all into their role. Amazing acting. The story was based off a true military story based in Houston, TX. A little known, but very important story every one should be aware of. I will definitely come back and see many more plays. They have a forever fan in me. If you are wondering if you should see this play. You won’t regret it. It’s evident that a lot of thought and effort went into each detail, from production, to costumes and props. It’s a serious topic. But there were many lighthearted and humorous moments. It will have you on the edge of your seat. It’s a life changing performance. And life changing story that was told by this wonderfully written play. There were many veterans in the audience and they also really appreciated the performance, story and attention to military detail. This is a story that needs to be told and shared with others. The story and the actors well represented the story. I saw a preview. Therefore there was a voluntary short discussion afterwards. With Q&A. This theatre deserves support and appreciation for the quality performances they give. Support your local theatre. The theatre was small and intimate. Well maintained and comfortable. The tickets are also...
Read more12 ways of Christmas was so good! The singing was great. The show itself is maybe 30 mins too long, but it was still a great show. However, hear me and hear me good to all ensemble theatre goers: DO NOT PURCHASE TICKETS FOR ROW X. This was the worst seating that I could have ever experienced at a theatre. There are not stationary chairs that are apart of the theatre. This row’s chairs are similar to regular dining chairs. Imagine sitting there for 2 1/2 hours. My tailbone was in so much pain and so was my husband’s tailbone. If the singing and stage production wasn’t as good as it was, this probably would’ve completely tarnished the experience for me. This row also costs the exact same as the other chairs, which I felt was not worth it at all. We were talking about leaving during intermission due to the annoyance with the chairs. I’d say if you go, you can enjoy yourself ONLY if you sit in the rows that belong to the theatre. If you see row X is only available, DO NOT PURCHASE. Lol please just go to a different showing. It will undoubtedly ruin your experience.
Note to The Ensemble Theatre owners: please do not add chairs to the theatre unless they provide comfort designed to be sat in for a lengthy period of time. Those chairs are designed to sit and eat in but not to sit in for longer than 20 mins. Oh, consider pricing those tickets at a reduced rate to prevent resentment towards the theatre. It can really ruin a first time...

The theater is cute. The parking needs to be made clear. And I think another play would've probably been nice, but unfortunately Clyde's left much, if not everything, to be desired. 80% of the script was vulgarity including continuous use of the Lord's name in vain. I should've walked out sooner than I did. I was waiting for something that never came. Same scene basically for the 35 minutes I was there. In the kitchen making a sandwich talking about absolutely nothing. It was like a very bad version of Seinfeld. The venue is cute and I'm sure that actors have great things ahead of them but I'm sorry this was NOT it. Just warning someone else before they waste 80 on two tickets like I did. Unless you like mindnumbing repetitive conversation including pointless heavy cursing and vulgarity non stop. I knew the theme of the play going in but I guess I just expected more, especially from a black owned theater. This was completely classless. Save yourself the time and money and don't...
