The first time I went to this theater, I bought these new-at-the-time "VIP" tickets online for a luxury movie-going experience. I could pre-order my snacks on their website (this has since been removed), I chose my seat, the movie had a short intermission for a bathroom break or refill, etc. It was FANTASTIC. This was now the only theater I was willing to go to at all, despite having to drive over an hour and passing every theater in my area on the way. My wife, brother, and myself made a tradition out of seeing any movie we were interested in on opening night at this theater in their VIP section.
The last few times didn't go so well. The staff became less friendly and the concession stand started being closed during intermission. Disappointing developments, but still the best experience you could get. Tonight, the last straw, was by far the worst. As per usual, I ordered tickets for us months ago, the day they were available for sale. Now over $18/ea, but when the experience is on-point, worth every penny. Tonight did not hit that, or any bar. We arrived at the theater 30 minutes in advance, as we always do, to ensure we'd have ample time to order our snacks (since we can't pre-order them anymore), get settled in our seats, and chat for a moment before the film. We were informed that half of the promo buckets/cups for the movie were sold out. For the second showing of the movie on premiere night. This had happened the last couple times, so it was honestly sort of expected. Again, annoying, but whatever. We ordered our snacks and waited for the theater to be cleaned. In the VIP setting, you order your snacks and they deliver them to you in the theater. About 10-15 minutes before the previews started, they opened the theater. My snacks were already delivered to my seat! I was jacked. My brother didn't get his snacks yet. :/
We sat and conversed while other patrons filtered in and started getting their snacks. My brother asked why he hadn't received his yet, noting that others arriving much later than us had received theirs, the employees informed him they'd check on it. Cool, stuff happens, maybe his got lost in the mix of everything, no biggie. We waited until the previews started and others seemingly all got their snacks and no more deliveries were being made. He went out and asked when he'd get his, and was again informed they'd check into it, and it'd be right out. It wasn't.
We watched the first half of the movie, relatively peeved that he didn't get his snacks, but enjoying the movie none-the-less. At intermission, my wife went out to ask why my brother hadn't gotten his snacks. They told her the snacks were delivered. She informed them they were not, gave them our seat numbers and name, and was again told they'd been delivered. She told them he hadn't received any of his snacks, had asked multiple times about their status, and was dismissed each time. At this point they admitted to error and gave her his bucket (without popcorn - unsurprisingly, the concession stand was now closed and cleaned up for the night), a drink, and candy. She was told he'd be getting a refund for the trouble.
She came back into the theater where my brother was understandably quite annoyed and relayed the interaction to him. Once again, quite annoying, but he said "alright" and we moved on with our night. Shortly after the movie started back up, an employee came in and told us they wouldn't be giving him a refund and instead gave him a few guest passes. At this point we are over $100 and multiple conversations with staff in an attempt to recover this quite poor experience. We didn't want to make it any worse or miss any more of the movie, so just said "OK", watched the rest of the film, and left.
Unfathomably incompetent and dismissive staff. Criminally refusing to refund an unfulfilled purchase (which wasn't even asked for, but was told by staff it would be). We have no intention of returning for the next release.
In happier news, Deadpool & Wolverine is a great movie and you should go see it at any theater besides...
ย ย ย Read moreMy husband and I decided to visit the VIP theater for the first time and we were pretty excited after reading the details online... I have never been THIS let down by a movie going experience, ever.. and I PAID for it.
Got there at 6:15, movie slated to start at 6:30. When we walked in there were two couples ahead of us. The first girl was asking ALL THE QUESTIONS, she ha some gift card and wasn't getting it, just tok forever. The second couple took less time but we still waited a long time. The kid behind the counter seemed new as another kid kept coming back to confirm a decision. In the mean time another two couples walks in; the room is now cramped and time is ticking by. I was baffled at why the "trainer" kid kept leaving... there are two registers, use them. By the time it's our turn we know exactly what we're getting. When we got to the register we were not greeted or asked if we'd been there before it was right to business. Got everything ordered including popcorn, a drink, Pad Thai from Mi Kong and the keylime pie from Muddy Bee's. Nothing was explained other than "I think the theater isn't clean yet so I can't let you in." no further instruction so we just meandered to the fork and looked both ways to find the theater- found it, it was open and the previews (which I actually love to watch) were already running. Took our seats and my seat doesn't recline, great. By the time we sat there a couple of minutes fiddling with the controls and still nothing, I tried the one next to me and it worked.
My husband went to the desk to let them know we were changing seats or mine wasn't working- whatever he said to them- and he's now missed the first 5 minutes of the movie- which we all know are the most important parts. He comes back and says scoot down. I then think "Do we get our popcorn or do they bring it to us?" I go check- they bring it to us. A few minutes later were loudly served popcorn and drink, no napkins, and other people continued to be served as well- what an interruption that was. Movie keeps going, great, food finally get there and again it's an annoyance to watch this one girl come in and back out and talk loudly and in and back out. Got our pad Thai, something I never order there I usually get the drunken noodle and it's usually great, I took one bite and thought I Was going to die. It was like they didn't stir anything so I got a big mouthful of half cooked peanut mash. I took another bite and could tell I'd get major heart burn if I continued. I gave it to my husband and he ate 3/4 of it. I'll stick to the drunken noodle next time.
The intermission was a joke. I thought the theater was broken an we'd get our money back then the usher comes in and says its intermission, ugh. Annoying! The chocolate truffle was bomb though. I'll give them that. We were brought our pie after the movie started again and I didn't have a bite until about 5 minutes later. IT was GOOOOD but it was half FROOZEEENNN. Annoying.
This whole trip was annoying and I'm surprised people actually like this service with all the customer service holes I see. We won't be back to the VIP nor probably...
ย ย ย Read moreHow disappointing! After not going to a movie since the whole cove in 19 pandemic started we could wait no longer to enjoy the relaxation of the VIP lounge in hurricane. So my son and I loaded up in the truck and headed for hurricane from St George just to enjoy the VIP lounge. We went to the 6:30 showing of zombieland and had to pay full price for an old movie but that was okay we were excited to be there. So we ordered our food and headed into the VIP theater to watch our movie. Our food was brought to us soon after the first half of the movie was enjoyable. Intermission came and we went out into the lobby to get popcorn as we were told at the counter that we could order popcorn later after we finished our meals. We were at that time that all registers had been closed this was about 7:30. We could not order any snacks or popcorn. At that point I stepped outside to enjoy some cool air before the movie starts again. When I tried to return I was locked out and had to flag down an employee walking by to let me back in. We went back into the theater and sat. And then we sat some more. And the movie never started again. We went into the lobby to try to find employees to start the second half of our movie after the intermission and there were to be found. After sitting there for approximately a half an hour we again tried to find an employee to start the movie still nothing. at this point we gave up and drove back home. The next day I called and spoke to a manager Miguel and told him that I was disappointed and I wanted my money back.he said that would be fine and that I could come out and get my money back so as soon as I got off work my son and I headed back out to hurricane to get a refund. When we got there I was told that we could not have our money back but was given to tickets to the VIP lounge to be used before December 31st. that was twice that I wasted gas money to go to hurricane for nothing but disappointment. I don't think I will be using those tickets I don't think it is worth my time or money anymore and I will anybody else know that as well. It seems to me that they are not interested in customer service or even doing what they say they...
