So I just left aldi....still a little confused on how I feel about it. I wish I would have read the reviews before going to prepare myself. Upon walking into the store I was looking for the little handle basket (I didnāt see one) so I went back outside to get a buggy. I carry a huge purse (which means all my change gets thrown in there on the bottom) so I was a little annoyed looking for a quarter but luckily a women was returning her buggy and asked if I wanted hers....I accepted so avoided having to dig in the bottom of my purse for a quarter. Immediately I saw their prices on wine (some brands I know with cheaper prices then other places) and the selection is interesting and cheap....bought some fillers for my wine rack at great prices and two bottles of champagne (super cheap to use for mimosas). So far Iām on the happy train in this place. Pretty good selection of organic eats and healthy food options. I especially liked the aisle that was marked something to the extent of lunch box items. I thought the prices were good for lunch box items. I bought strawberries, blueberries, and mandarin oranges. Upon peeling the oranges they didnāt seem super fresh or that they would last long in my fridge...(we shall see by Friday if theyāre still good). I did buy some yogurt and sour cream which seemed to be of good quality. I didnāt buy milk, meat (except lunch meat) or eggs so I canāt review on that. I was a little taken back at how the cashier was just throwing my groceries in the cart. They donāt use bags or offer boxes. Be prepared to have stuff in your car to transport stuff inside your house. Luckily I had my big purse which was great for my dairy products. I had a good shopping experience so far...I will give this place some more tries before I decide if I like it or dislike it. Iām pretty partial to my other two favorite places but this place has potential to take top spot since itās so convenient to me. My two places FYI are freshfield farms and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve only just discovered Aldiās through working with Instacart. Yesterday I was working on triple batch with a friend. Iāve always had a pleasant experience with shopping at Aldiās. Yesterday however was a terrible experience at checkout. First off the older woman working the register was almost annoyed with us as we were loading our orders on the conveyor belt almost rushing us as we were organizing all items trying to ensure everything went to the correct order. As we finished with the first order I notice she was almost throwing the items in to shopping cart annoyingly. I brushed it off... As she moved onto the second order she kept looking at me trying to rush me, telling me she needed my cart, which my child was in. I told her I would give it to her when I was done. She continued to give me an attitude. She told me I could just put my kid in the other cart. Simple request right? I gave her a better solution. An empty cart next to her at another register. She mumbled some snidey remark under her breath. My friend told me to let it go but she really made me not want to go back to that particular Aldiās ever again as a customer or an Instacart shopper. Iām not sure if she just had an off day or what but regardless a customer should never receive the treatment we were given. As I was packing the groceries away I watched how she engaged with other customers. It seems we were the only ones she treated in such a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbout 2 months ago, I wrote my initial review (see below) about the long lines at Aldi's checkouts. Today, the store was packed .... so packed that it was hard to go up and down some aisles because of the people and their carts. When I went to check out, Aldi had only ONE cashier open and I was probably 7th - 8th person in line. I asked another customer to watch my cart and I went up and asked the cashier about the long lines. Her response was that they were "a little short staffed". About 5 minutes after I went back to my cart, though, another TWO cashiers came out and opened up their checkout lines. SHORT STAFFED??? As I have said before, if you like a grocery store with LONG, LONG lines, then this is the store for you. It is strange that I have been to other Aldi stores and they have more than one cashier open and checkout lines are shorter. As time goes by, I buy less and less from this Aldi because of the TERRIBLE waiting lines.
If you like waiting in long lines to check-out and pay for your groceries, then this Aldi is your place to go. It seems that they very rarely have more than just one cashier working. Today, there must have had at least 10 customers waiting in this single check-out to pay for...
