My fiancé bought my ring from Barnett’s and it’s been a nightmare ever since. We wanted to buy local in Jacksonville rather than buying from a big chain (clearly a mistake). He brought them opals that have been in my family for the last 30 years, ones that I’ve been wearing for the last 5, and asked them to set them in an engagement ring for me. They walked him through the whole process and gave him advice on which setting they recommended and everything. He took their advice and bought the center stone they recommended as well as the setting they recommended. In the last 6 months since we’ve been engaged, the stones have come out of their setting 5 times: once when the ring brushed against my jeans, once when I was looking in my suitcase, once when I was looking through a backpack, once when I was moving laundry from the washer into the dryer, and the most recent time when I brushed my hand against my fiancé’s arm. We took the ring back to Barnett’s to get it reset properly and it took an extremely long time to get it back. We asked them to lengthen the prongs holding the stones into place as they had been set that way in my previous ring with which I had no trouble. Unfortunately they did not lengthen the prongs and after having the ring back for 2 hours a stone popped out once again. We now live out of state so we brought the ring back down to Jacksonville (once again) to have it fixed and they said they would have it fixed by the time we left. After having it for the last 3 days it is still not fixed and we can’t even take back our broken ring because it was taken out of the store and they “cannot get into contact with the person who has it.” We now have to find out how to get it picked up and/or sent to us instead of being able to get it ourselves. This has been an absolutely ridiculous experience and extremely frustrating. What should have been a magical experience for us had just been...
Read moreWhat an Amazing Jewelery Store!!! I am new (one year) to the Jacksonville area. I was shopping at the Riverside Marketplace and came across Barnett Jewelers. I wanted to get my husband a gift he had been longing for. I walked in and asked if it was family owned...I was super please to learn that Barnett has been in business over 100 years, since 1917! Amazing! I have always been one to support family businesses. I had seen something I wanted to get my husband on Amazon, but after walking into Barnett, I quickly forgot all about that. First - They were extremely friendly and helpful. I was taken care of by Susan Barnett, she was absolutely delightful. She did not try to "oversell me" and helped me choose something that was within my budget. Second - Their selection was out of this world! So many items to choose from and what beautiful settings on the stones. Third - There was a display case with a wonderful percentage off....I got myself a beautiful gold and cz bracelet for a song. Fourth - I was shown an easy way to clean all my jewelry...even my wedding bands that I could not get off my fingers! I cannot thank Susan Barnett and her family enough for a wonderful shopping experience. They have gained a loyal customer due to their knowledge, their customer service and their selection. If you want someone you can trust with your jewels, head on over to Barnett Jewelers. You wont be...
Read moreToday I went into Barnett Jewelers and was helped by Angela. She asked, how she may help me? I told her it was my 12th year anniversary with my wife this coming Sunday. No time til the last moment, right guys? Angela asked me where I wanted to be budget wise? I told her, then the adventure began. I wasn't sure if I wanted a 3 diamond ring (past, present, future), a single diamond, a single with a band. Truthfully, I was lost. Angela took her time with me. We looked at multiple types of rings. Arrangements. Shapes and sizes. After what seemed to be an all day event (to me), was only about an hour. Okay, more like 2 hours. I finally decided on a solitaire diamond with a band. I couldn't have been happier. Angela was absolutely amazing with me. Took her time. Helped me. Was pleasant, caring and completely genuine. Sometimes, when you enter an establishment your swept apon like vultures on a dying animal or like you've entered a car dealership lot. You all know what I mean. Not the experience at Barnett Jewelers. Top notch. Caring. Respectful. Honest and true. I got my wedding ring cleaned while I was shopping. For free. Thank you Angela and...
