My fiancée purchased my engagement ring here, and I absolutely adore my ring. He told me the gentleman who helped him pick it out, did an awesome job and helped him with every aspect of creating the perfect ring. Kudos, HE is the reason there are 2 stars instead of 1. I don't understand how he could have had such great service with Bradley's and this is what MY experience has been for the last 4 months. A month after he proposed, I had an incident at work that bent one of the prongs slightly, causing the stone to become crooked. I went to Bradley's to see if they did repairs too and the response from Haley, I believe, was "yes, we do repairs but, it's not like the stone will fall out, it's not loose or anything." (How can you have an associate who is so dismissive of a customer's concern?? This didn't make a good impression on me from that moment). Reluctantly, I left it with them to fix and a week or so later I am told that the ring is good to go, I took one glance at it and it's as if they just cleaned/polished the ring and stone. I asked Susan if she would maybe take another look at it for me and she just said "well you probably have better eyes than me" and finally the gentleman who works on repairs, who set the stone from the beginning, came out and told me he couldn't tell that the stone was crooked. I was frustrated because I could see with my own eyes that it remained crooked and they had it for a week. Also, they were still going to charge me a fee for said "repair??" And then I insisted he looked at it again. He turned it one way, then another and finally recognized and saw what I was seeing and he took it, fixed it and it was ready to go the very next day. He was just about the only one who was kind, didn't talk down to me, and wasn't dismissive of me. What I don't understand is why nobody picked up the phone to ask what I meant or to explain that they saw nothing wrong. I had a very poor experience with 2 of the 3 associates there. They then offered free cleaning if ever I needed it and the 2 times I've been there to have it cleaned, they hadn't done a good job. Both times, the stone was left cloudy, as if a polishing cloth was used for the top of the stone. The second time it happened, I simply thanked the woman who "assisted" me, left the store to go home, and looked up a way to clean it at home, which turns out that Dawn dishwasher soap, hot water and a soft bristle toothbrush does the trick, perfectly... Again, I really adore my engagement ring but honestly, I doubt my fiancée or I will be returning to...
Read moreMy five star rating revolves around Bradley's commitment to his business and the customer.
I've shopped at the corporate chains in town and abroad and clearly notice distinctions in quality of service, commitment, and quality of product.
The lack of knowledge and care displayed by employees across the street at the Jacksonville mall is unforgiving.
Immediately after entering Bradley's, I was greeted by Bradley (the owner), whom displayed great knowledge of the products he sells, patience, creativity in pairing the setting and stone, and eagerness and willingness to order pieces the customer may want or he believes the customer may be interested in. It was the engagement ring and wedding band combination Bradley first showed me that I chose, not because I'm impulsive but because it was the best.
Bradley was kind in letting me observe the stones I was interested in under the microscope and providing supporting documentation showing the specifications. These were both aspects of the process I was keen on and it was obvious he understood.
Bradley earned my respect and trust from what has already been detailed but more so because of how he handled a particular occurrence.
The details of the occurrence don't really matter I suppose. What matters is that if I had purchased the ring from Kay's, Zales, or Reeds, I almost certainly would have been told file a claim with my insurance despite not being at fault for the damage. Bradley showed compassion, something rarely found outside small businesses. Barely having the engagement ring for a couple weeks, I feared we would be left with handling repairs out of pocket simply because of the time that elapsed after picking up the ring. Bradley took time and effort to replace the diamond with one that is of...
Read moreMy husband spent $1,000 on a pair of lab grown diamond earrings last year and they didn't bother to tell him that they're worthless. Recently tried to sell them back to him and to every jewelry store in Wilmington and everybody says no thanks, because they have no value. Seems like something that should have been mentioned at the time of purchase.....in response to your response....I recently spoke with several of your employees and told them I would be more than happy to drive an hour to Jacksonville so that you could see the earrings and make a decision on whether to purchase them or not...IF you were currently buying lab grown jewelry. When someone finally let me know you would not buy them then there was no reason to go. So, a little over a year ago, my husband was kind enough to buy me diamond earrings from you and felt that he was making a more socially responsible purchase choosing the lab grown. We have since fallen on hard times and have had to sell everything we can to make ends meet and found it difficult to choose to sell beloved items such as the diamonds. Thinking they were one of the most valuable items we owned, you can imagine how shocked we were to find that no one wants to buy them back or accepts them as trade ins. I do not consider them worthless, however, it seems that your industry does not value them once they leave the store. I just feel that this should have been made more clear at the time of purchase. I hope that moving forward you are very open and honest with your customers about how indeed...not all diamonds are...
