Mi Cabana Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Update: was invited out tried again. They put flour in my sauce (said they would remove or reduce it) which I told waitress I can’t have ANY flour. They clearly cross contaminated something. Stomach cramps and pain today along with they brought me corn tortillas and a fried one even though I said I couldn’t have either. You guys haven’t improved for people with celiacs every time I go you guys mess up more. Waitress did her job people cooking in the back had no clue what they were doing. I’ll be requesting a refund today. This is common that’s why people with allergies and celiacs don’t eat out often. No restaurant location for mi cabana is safe also every time I inform you guys of my intolerances and you’ve messed up each time. Giving me corn tortillas. They have flour. I’ve been reassured my orders been fine because people are uneducated about the ingredients. People with celiacs ultimately you can damage and kill off their intestines through feeding them food they’re intolerant to. You guys have to take responsibility and just tell people they eat at their own risk and inform them you aren’t educated enough on allergens and celiacs. I rather of had you decline my order then get me sick.

They aren’t educated on food allergies. Refried beans have milk mentioned dairy and gluten intolerance and was given refried beans countless times over the last several months (many places suck at food allergies and this is one) only found out once a server told me I couldn’t have the refried beans. I chose this place for my Birthday, we requested to sit at the bar. It was 1520 on Oct 12, I ordered combo of 3. Chicken Tamale, Chile Relleno, and beef taco my husband ordered the shrimp cocktail. Tacos come with cilantro and onion unless otherwise requested. Odd that mine came with lettuce and cheese. Tasteless groundbeef. chile relleno was undercooked, had good flavor. The tamale I never tried because the waitresses were talking about a colleague, Very loud and obnoxiously rude about the young lady. “ well apparently a table requested she not serve them because she doesn’t speak Spanish, we always have to do her work” a few seconds later another waitress shows up and now there are three waitresses talking amongst themselves about their colleague.

I asked to speak to the manager and was told there was not a manager on staff. My husband then asked who is in charge the 3 ladies who had been talking about their colleague said they all were! Very confusing, no manager to now we are all managers! I explained to all of the ladies that their behavior was rude at best and if their colleague was doing something she shouldn’t be then that is something they need to address in private not while patrons are trying to enjoy food.

We have found other Mexican restaurants that we will continue to support, this however will not get this Army Veteran’s business! We always support local, but not this...

Well first off the customer service was HORRIBLE!! Immediately got seated ( BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT BUSY AT ALL) and then the waitress left, no salsa no chips no asking us what we wanted to drink she just left. So after 25 whole minutes of being thirsty I went back up to the front desk and told her no one has came to our table in the past 25 minutes so she asked where were we seated and I showed her...still waiting 7 minutes after that someone finally came to ask us for drinks but since we were waiting for so long we already knew what we wanted to eat so she took our order and our drinks. She brought my mom a sweet tea when she clearly said pepsi but she accepted it. So here we are waiting for the food to get to our table, they brought out my mom and my sisters food then they brought out me and my fathers food but didnt bring out my little sisters food( a kids meal burger with fries) they waited until everyone was finished eating to bring out her burger and fries...then they made a lame excuse saying they were waiting on the fries.
