I called American Dream Cakes from Seattle, Washington to have them make a cake for my sonās 20th Birthday. It was somewhat short notice, but the woman I spoke with (Gunell) said they could make the cake for pick up on Saturday. She asked me to send the details of what I wanted via email which I did and I called them back to ensure they received the email, but Gunell was busy with another customer. The person on the phone said she would call me back shortly. I didnāt receive a call after an hour so I called again with no response. I called one more time and Gunell answered and she told me the person I needed to speak with was busy and that they would return my call before the end of their business day. I did not receive a phone call, but instead later that day, I received an email telling me that they would not be able to make the cake for my son as promised. This left me in a terrible position because it was too late to call anyone else to make the cake for my son for his birthday. After the holiday, I sent another email asking if they could make a very simple 2-layer chocolate cake with Happy Birthday written on the top (not that much different from the original request) and received no response. My son is a United States Marine and I havenāt been able to spend his birthday with him for 2 years now. I wanted to have a cake for him with candles which was going to be picked up by one of his buddies to surprise him and I was going to Video Chat with him and sing Happy Birthday while he blew out his candles. Well, this didnāt happen and I was very disappointed and I suspect that my son was disappointed as well. I found American Dream Cakes to be unreliable so before you rely upon them to make a cake for you or your event, be sure to have a backup because these people are...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently ordered a German Chocolate Cake and regret to inform you that it did not live up to its $66 price tag. Unfortunately, we ended up discarding half of it (I have a photo to prove it). The remaining portion was only partially consumed; after serving it, only two kids finished their slices, while the adults could barely manage more than a couple of bites.
If you're a fan of German Chocolate Cake, I recommend saving your money, as this one resembled more of a culinary disaster than a delightful treat. In fact, Walmartās $11 German Chocolate Cake was significantly better and was enjoyed by both children and adults alike.
I apologize for the harshness of this review, but I wanted to be honest. The lack of any response from your team suggests that you might be aware that your cakes donāt quite live up to the "Dreamy" label.
It's disappointing to have to leave a one-star review, especially considering that less than 10% of the cake was actually eaten, primarily by children.
Additionally, I noticed that American Dream Cakes did not reach out to us regarding our review or the fact that we had to throw the cake away. This lack of concern speaks volumes about your customer service. It seems you may be indifferent to feedback since you primarily serve a military community with a transient...

The cake looked beautiful. People seemed friendly. However it started when the cake was supposed to be ready Friday. I went to pick it up Friday. The representative said oh I put the ticket in the wrong pile I have it to be decorated Saturday. She said give me 30 minutes and it will be ready - it was ready in 30 minutes. Then another representative gave me a coupon for a dozen cupcakes - followed bye Iām sorry for the inconvenience about the mixup. I told him I canāt use the certificate Iām going back to Florida tomorrow and I wonāt be back to North Carolina. He responded by telling me well you can give it away to somebody or stop by before you go tomorrow morning.
The certificate itās supposed to be a form of an apology so Iām supposed to take that apology certificate and just give it away now? Or I have to drive a little over an hour to make a detour to pick up additional cupcakes that donāt even want or need.
Whatever I didnāt say anything I and just left. The cake was then cut into at the party. I ordered filling for inside the cake there was no filling -I ordered buttercream icing ā it was not buttercream icing.
So what did I exactly pay for just a pretty cake? A pretty cake that cost over $130 - that I paid in...
