Poor customer service, irrelevant policies and no will to support.
My sense on this organization is that If youâre not one of the regular customers or someone driving a Bugatti/Maserati wearing the right stuff then you probably shouldnât go here. Thatâs the message they sent me.
Actions by sales person suggested that they felt I was not âworthy â to do business with them or engaged in criminal activity. Maybe just needed an excuse âŚWearing jeans, boots, a plain T-shirt, and sport-coat sent the wrong signal to them perhaps.
Iâve visited the store twice in the past month and made arrangements with their staff 24 hours prior to make my purchase but unfortunately forgot my wallet and didnât wanna have to drive back through traffic at Christmas time.
Thank Heavenâs for Apple Pay right?
On arrival I asked if they accepted Apple Pay
Initially the answer was yesâŚ.but
Being told that we wonât accept your payment without a copy of your photo ID is completely stupid. I was able to show them a photo ID /security badge that was a US military issued ID (photo of me in uniform didnât sit well?) because Im active duty military, but told them very clearly. âI canât allow a photocopy that.â
They came back to me and said they could not complete the transaction because of it. I questioned that professionally and asked them âif I brought cash in would you guys care? Their response was âwell actually if itâs anything over $1500 we need a copy of a photo ID...â
What do you need a copy of my photo ID for? If Iâm paying you money to give me goods⌠You donât need to know my address. You certainly donât need a copy of my drivers license and certainly donât need to call someone at corporate ask permission to sell $3000 worth of fine jewelry. Customer comes in on an appointment to spend 3000+ dollars is probably chump change to them. I get it.
Donât treat people like $h!t.
Show you a photo id and pass the funds-
You need nothing else
Offering to send an email so I could enter in my credit card information isnât something that made sense either as a work around - my own online financial security is not a sacrificial mechanism either. ( which if I donât authorize the id to be copied didnât add up either - )
If you really felt I was a criminal you could use Google and realize pretty quickly who I was. The name and address matched the name on the ID and credit card infoâŚbut you didnât want to think of that either.
Donât be tools because Iâm not one of your regular clients. Someone comes to purchase from your store and has visited three times and provides a photo ID should be able to do business.
But thatâs not how you do businessâŚ
Last straw: the associate used the word âretardedâ when referring to their own policy - and on that note and on behalf of all mentally disabled and handicapped persons including personal friends and associates that have children with disabilities I walked straight out without a word.
PS - same item over Jared Jewelers 500 yards away purchased on site for 10% less. They didnât need a photo copy of an ID and didnât...

I wanted to take the time to review this Jewelry store and give readers something to think about from an honest perspective. I will preface this review with saying I am a person who is not financially well off but have been going to Mayors for my jewelry needs now for about 15 years. When I walked in, 15 years ago, I was welcomed like family, despite the fact I was not wearing designer clothes. I was not pressured, I was allowed to walk around leisurely, and take my time. I was asked to let a sales assistant know if they could be of any help when I was ready and offered a beverage. This has typically not been my experience with other jewelry stores! The store management has changed since my first visit and I will tell everyone, Miriam Malik has become family over the years. She is honest, no pressure, willing to make suggestions in the customers best interest, and genuinely cares about the people she sees on a daily basis. The store is comfortable, clean, and the atmosphere is relaxed where you can take your time looking at the wide selection of watches, rings, and jewelry you just don't see anywhere else. Prices range from sale items which are very affordable and great deals, to high end pieces and pieces they will order in for you or have custom made by their expert designers. Mayors hosts jewelry shows, loose gem shows and many other services. They will inspect your jewelry, they have repair services, and always offer to clean your pieces while you browse. The sales staff is knowledgeable and courteous and they always remember you when you return which is such a nice thing, for me. I was engaged a couple of years ago and recently was married. The first place I went for my jewelry needs was Mayors. Everyone greeted me, as usual, and when I told them my news, everyone was so excited, like your family would be. Mariam took a lot of time to just sit with me, talk, asked me my ideas and thoughts about a ring I was looking for. The process took weeks and finally she showed me the ring I had described to a tee. My wife looks at it every day and can't believe how beautiful it is. I have made many purchases over the years but every time, whether it is something small for my wife to just say I love you, or something a little bigger, I am always treated with respect, courtesy, and made to feel like I am someone important, even though I am sure I am not one of their biggest spending customers. I like that! If you have never been inside, and are looking for something, anything, I suggest you not pass this store by thinking it may not be for you or too expensive. What you find inside will amaze you. Not only the selection, but the people. And you will feel like you are someone...
Read moreWell I am giving it a two star based only on our experience. We had decided to get my husband watch repaired from them. No problem there. They took it and gave us an estimated time to repair. We received a call and said it was ready (earlier than estimated) which was good. I went in to pick up the watch. I had the receipt for pickup and info on the watch with me, which they went to get. When they opened the box to show me the repair. Imagine my thoughts when low and behold it was not the watch they we had left. I told the woman that it was a nice watch, however it was not the one that we had left. She looked at our receipt and said well that was the watch. I said well again that it was a nice watch, but we had left a manâs watch not a ladies. She then picked up the watch and looked at some kind of serial number I believe and told me that was the watch. I said well thatâs not mine. I said I think we might have a problem, a big problem. I then, contacted my husband and asked him if he had taken a picture, which he had and sent it to me. She then, went in the back to do some research. I asked where they had sent the watch. I am familiar with the cities that are certified to work on these watches. After about 10 minutes of waiting and coming to the conclusion that I was not leaving until I had some answers and was planning to call the police. She came back out and finally showed me the correct watch. I asked why it had happened. Who had made the error? She said the repair place. I asked if that had ever happened before and she said no. I paid the $800 plus for the repair and left. I just would like to say that I felt that the way she acted with the magnifying glass, tried to tell me that was the watch we had left was not greatly appreciated. I do not remember her offering an apology when she realized it was there problem, not mine. Given how nice they were when we dropped off is the reason for the 2 stars, but the stress and the vibe I got when I went back to pick up will more than likely keep me from purchasing or leaving anything again. I just hoped that the repair last a good long while because that was not a pleasant experience. They have nice jewelry, but there more stores to...
