I would rate this high on the atmosphere, but I dont want you to be disappointed with everything else. To me atmosphere is more than an amazing interior designer. I go somewhere to eat, be entertained, have a great meal and a great time, not get a fancy take out back and just sit in a pretty place with uber high pricing.
We ate there last night with another couple. We have tried frequently in the past to eat there, and always seem to be oh do you have a reservation, no. Ok we can seat you 4 hours from now. Onto last night. We were pleasantly greeted when we walked in. Greeted at our table within 5 minutes. Either our server was training someone, or was a back waiter, they never identified the second person.
The restaurant was not busy. Server seemed to care about food allergies and wrote them down which is a plus. We ordered drinks, I feel like as soon as you dont drink alcohol the server in any restaurant bans you in their mind as a cheap table, same applied here. My wife literally only drinks water, and I drink unsweet tea. We feel better since we stopped drinking alcohol a few years ago. My tea came out and was very tasty, could tell it was fresh brewed. Her water, well about 15 minutes later, she finally got water. The app came out before her water.
They dont have bread service, but if you ask they will slice and heat up one of the foccia breads they use for a sandwich I think. These prices, I at least expect bread service. We ordered the shrimp appetizer to share with our friends. $30 for six medium size shrimp, that were drowning in some uncreative chili butter sauce and a small pile of lettuce they called a salad- it tasted like an appetizer you would get at Chilis. Come on $30 for 6 shrimp, better be amazing. Nope just ok. I decided to order the burger, and my wife ordered the club sandwich. Neither one of us ever eat pork. Food comes out, I took a bite out of the burger, it was very average, it was the only bite I took $24 for the burger, look at the picture, I always cut my burger in half just to ensure temp is correct, so that is just 1/2 the burger, but you get the idea. Does that look like a $24 burger to you. I can get this at Whataburger for $10. My wife's chicken club sandwich came out with bacon, even though we ordered without. The club was actually tasty but not at that price. Ordered the charred brocollini, it was burnt, not charred. Get the bill for an ok lunch that was supposed to be a dinner- $110. I could had a better meal at Ted's or Longhorn and paid half the price. If you like to feel fancy, this is a good place for you.
The atmosphere is nice. If you want to pay way too much for OK food, this is the place for you. For those prices I would expect the food to be on par with competitors at those same price points, such as 11th Ave South Bistro. $110 for a dinner with lunch-sized portions and nothing else on the plate. This is no Ruth Chris. At Ruth Chris when you order an ala carte side, you get enough for the table or at least to share and its tasty. I know how charred should be so dont think please I dont understand the difference between charred and burnt. Here we got 3 pathtetic little pieces of broccolini.
I could probably get this meal at any local mom and pop restaurant much better for way less. Yep this is the place for you if you just like atmosphere. Everything is ala carte, which is fine, but literally 3 small pieces of burnt broccolini for $14.00, an average burger with nothing but bun pickel and two patties for $24, an ok club sandwich for $29. Heck I probably paid $10 for an iced tea. Way better restaurants. I will pay a good fee for a great meal no questions asked, the value in this place does not match the taste vs cost. I have eaten $1000+ dollar meals in restaurants, but this. Not worth the cost. Eat there...
Read moreHad the worst time / experience in RH Jacksonville st St. Johns Town Center. We went here just a few days ago to have a tour in St Johns Towncenter as we are Asian tourists. We were supposed to dine-in here at RH St Johns and explore the place / shop / restaurant because we heard good things about it. Really got disappointed because the manager (Andrea) was rude to us. We really actually felt discriminated and disrespected.
I even went back to talk to her to explain properly our experience about how we felt towards her treatment/approach to us but she did not welcome it as she was firm with her actions towards us and just insisted that I just send a feedback instead to their management or feedback department because she said we were just going in circles with our discussion. She even said that she got annoyed with my actions.
It started when I was taking pictures of my wife in their restaurant using my fujifulm X-T30. The receptionist Tatiana approached us and told me that I cannot use pro camera. I properly (with a smile) told her that I am not a professional photographer nor my camera is a professional camera. Then after taking pictures, the manager Andrea approached me and said “are you done with your camera? Are you done taking pictures?” With an unpleasant or mocking tone. I said yes and she told me that as per their policy (which I am not sure where to see that as there were no signs) I cannot use my pro camera so I said again that my camera was not pro and she just said that I can only use my phone camera in the gallery which I confirmed to her that that’s the first and second floor where they display their products for sale. We went out to the alfresco area (3rd floor) of their restaurant and I took pictures with my XT30 camera there for memories as they have a good view and place out there. After few mins the manager went out and said, “Did I just tell you not to use your camera?” rudely. I said that I thought she only meant the gallery in 1st and 2nd floor and she said that No, even outside is the gallery and I cannot use my camera there, (said it unpleasantly again). I stopped shooting and just said that I was sorry for the trouble because I did not know. That’s the time that my family and I left because we felt that we are already being targetted and the manager is always approaching us in a non pleasant way.
Never going back to this place or any RH store anymore. I’ll never support this establishment ever again. Never experienced this kind of treatment back home and other countries we have visited. I am also hoping that the upper management of RH would do something about this. I think the manager could have dealt with the matter properly and not how she did it, which is rude, unpleasant, and a bit racist if may I add. Really...
