I recently discovered Seasons 52 and have been twice now for lunch. I had initially shied away from this restaurant based on what a friend told me. He said the food was good but I would probably leave hungry because the portion sizes were so small. I wish I had tried Seasons 52 sooner to make my own judgment! I have found that the portions, at least at lunch, are generally smaller than what you get at a lot of restaurants, but I also didn't leave unsatisfied. On the contrary, I like it because I don't feel like I eat too much, and I can also indulge in richer dishes that might otherwise be just way too much food or too many calories. It also leaves room for one of their excellent desserts! For instance, on my latest visit, I had the shrimp and grits which had around 500 calories according to the menu. I find this is usually a pretty rich dish at other restaurants, but it was delicious and a nice portion size that didn't leave me feeling like I had overindulged. I was struggling to choose between this dish or the cedar plank grilled salmon but went with the shrimp and grits largely at the recommendation of my server as he thought it would be a good dish for the cold weather that day (and it was!). The desserts at Seasons 52 are equally as guilt free in terms of their size; they are all mini desserts that come in glasses not much bigger than a shot glass. There is a good selection of them as well; I believe there were seven when I was there including a pumpkin one which I had that was delicious. It was pumpkin pudding layered with spice cake. Seasons 52 has some seasonal items as well. I haven't eaten there enough yet to know how many of these there are or how often they change. The winter items were about to expire according to my server which I believe included the pumpkin dessert. The one item that could have been better was the iced tea - it was pretty watered down and I prefer a stronger tea. There is a small lunch menu that has some items at reduced prices, or you can order off of the regular menu. There is also an extensive wine selection. The atmosphere of the restaurant is inviting and has a more upscale feel than a lot of restaurants, especially for lunch. The kitchen and grill area are more of an open concept so you can see some of the kitchen activity. My second visit was quiet and relaxing; my first one was disrupted by a child that would not stop crying, and the parents obviously had no interest in stopping their lunch to take him outside until he calmed down (which was done at the expense of the other patrons of course). I don't fault the restaurant for that, but it's not the kind of thing I would expect to see at a restaurant like this just because it doesn't seem like the type of restaurant that caters to children or young families (I don't recall seeing a children's menu for instance). I have enjoyed both meals there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I ordered tuna tartare, grilled artichoke and lemon hummus, lamb loin and Chilean sea bass, two Russian mules and a mocktail. The tuna tartare was tasty but slightly underwhelming. I like texture and flavor contrasts and complements, so I appreciated the soft yet slightly firm tuna against the soft guacamole and mango. The sweetness of the mango was a wonderful surprise. The tuna was bland, though. I wish the chef had chosen to season it up a bit to add more nuance to the dish. Maybe lemon, ginger, sesame oil, salt …something. If it weren’t for the mango and the slight citrus in the guacamole the tuna tartare would have been a big snore. On the other hand, the grilled artichoke and hummus with lemon was very good because The artichoke was charred perfectly and well seasoned, as was the hummus. I appreciate the flavor of charred foods, especially charred meats and vegetables, there was an obvious and harmonious contrast between the charr and acidity of the artichoke and the hummus brought it al together like an effective mediator. The lamb loin was delicious yet slightly salty. The lamb was prepared medium and beautifully charred from the grill. I could tell the lamb had been cured in salt because certain portions of the loin was saltier than other parts. The lamb was a great portion and absolutely edible as the saltiness did not overcome the flavor of the meat. The Chilean seabass was well prepared but slightly underwhelming. The fish was basic and it lacked kick or dimension, like a splash of lemon juice, ginger, maple honey or capers. It just tasted like fish sautéed in salted butter. Overall, the food was worth the price and fulfilling. However, I was turned off by the significant amount of dust on the lamp above my table and the area around my table. Dust consists of many unsavory things and you wouldn’t intentionally consume others skin cells and such. The site of all the dust made me concerned about the integrity of my food and the cleanliness of everything else in the restaurant. Please hire someone to thoroughly dust the restaurant, especially all surfaces beside and above the dining tables.

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I posted a review! Thanks so much to my followers and influencers who take time out their busy schedule to read my comments and reviews on places and businesses I frequently visit. I absolutely love to reward people, places, and businesses who often go the extra mile to provide outstanding food, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent customer service. Because o this, you will find my comments posted right here on Google Review for the world to see!

Seasons 52 in St. John’s Town Center Jacksonville, FL is one of my all time favorite restaurants in the country! For the past 10 years during my birthdays and anniversaries, Seasons 52 is THE place to celebrate special occasions or for an excellent wine and dine experience! Oscar Rosado, Jr. (Managing Partner) and his team I are simply the best! When I walk into the restaurant, I’m immediately greeted with such warmth and admiration! When you look around and see the rich, wood grain furniture and architecture, you immediately feel the food, service and hospitality will be top notch! Any of the appetizers, drinks, entree, and desserts you can’t go wrong whether you are non vegetarian or vegetarian. Simply the best!

Just celebrated my 36 year anniversary and I always order any of the flatbread app w/glass of wine, caramelized sea scallops w/risotto, and a small pecan pie that comes in a small glass (which is the right portion amount for a small sweet treat). Every time I come to Seasons 52, I always receive impeccable service every time! Seasons 52 should be congratulated for setting a high standard of excellence!

If you never been to Seasons 52, PLEASE go! You owe it to yourself. Oscar and his team will take excellent care of you! I promise you won’t be disappointed! Can’t wait to return back in March to celebrate my 59th birthday!

Continue the fabulous food and service you consistently provide day in and day out 7 days a week to your loyal customers and to the entire Jacksonville...
