Everydays True Value — Local services in Jamestown

I've been a longtime customer at this store and have always enjoyed supporting locally owned businesses. The staff has always been friendly, polite and professional...until today. I had a key made for my job (100 mile round trip from Jamestown). I got to work today and the key wouldn't open my gift shop. I had to leave without opening. I went back to the store to rectify the issue. The clerk who made the key clearly never inspected when she made it. The same clerk was there today. She got defensive when i told her that the key didn't work, and told me "Sometimes they don't work. She tried to make another and failed. Another clerk tried and failed and then (I believe it was the owner) came and made the key. No one even so much as apologized for their mistake...which cost me a full days' pay and 20.00 in gas...and 3 hours of my time. No one said a kind word or even offered a smile. I was treated as a nuisance....so I don"t think I will bother them in the future. Anyone can make a mistake...it's how you handle it that matters. I'm sad as I hate to give my money to the big box hardware stores! Customer...

Had some young male employee look at me judgmentally and ask me if I needed help finding something I ignored him he then moves to stand in front of me blocking my path I keep ignoring him and walk around the employee but he continues to bother me he comes up to the front and hovers there I walk away again and he walks away. But then comes back up there again when I go back. This employee has no respect for his senior this kid looked like he was just out of high school I'm a grown adult I have certifications own a home and make 2 to 3 times as much as this kid and he's walking around the store unsupervised harassing me.

If this kid worked for me I would have walked over and disciplined him right in front of the customer then apologized There is no excuse for this...

Exceptional customer service! I was in, found what I needed with assistance, and out. I asked dumb questions with uninformed vocabulary, all the while receiving gracious responses and being led directly to what I needed. Thank you for a great experience!!
