While not the fanciest fast food restaurant out there, being difficult to park at, and having a menu that makes vegans weep, AJ Texas Hots is a staple of the Jamestown area and (along with their competition, Johnny's Lunch in Lakewood) one of the oldest independently operating burger stands that define the city's working-class cuisine.
A few tips: -Try it at least once. Even if you don't like it, you can say that you went there. -Try the Texas Fries. Being I live out of town, I had to full fill my AJ fix and was so disappointed with my service in the drive thru. When I started to order I was asked after each item ordered "is that it?". The woman was clearly irratated that I wanted time to look at the menu. I was the only car in the drive thru at the time. After ordering my food I sat at the widow for 10 minutes before anyone said anything to me. Although the food was spot on, the service was horrible.
