Stay away.
As a newer Warhammer enthusiast eager to jump into the hobby with friends, I felt compelled to share my disappointing and completely unhelpful recent experience at the Jenkintown store in Pennsylvania. Particularly, Austin.
Despite my enthusiasm, Austin's demeanor was dismissive and unhelpful from the onset. Upon expressing my interest in starting a collection of World Eaters and seeking guidance on what to search for first, I was met with condescension and hostility.
Rather than offering assistance or guidance, Austin repeatedly interrogated me with the question, "Well, what do you want?" Despite my explanation of being new to the hobby and seeking advice on available stock, his response remained unchanged. His behavior culminated in him abruptly ending the call when I reiterated my uncertainty.
In a return call, I attempted to address the disconnection calmly, only to be met with further rudeness and hostility from Austin. His curt response of "Well. What. Do. You. Want." was both disrespectful and unprofessional.
This encounter left me feeling alienated and makes me want to come by in person to tell everyone else to stay away. Talk about tarnishing initial excitement for the Warhammer hobby.
New hobbyists and old alike, stay away from this store.
(The worst part is, i had also inquired about Tyranids about a month ago and was met with an exact same experience, thinking he was just having a bad day. Nope, Austin is just a...
Read moreThis Warhammer location has been by far my favorite experience with GamesWorkshop since I started up the hobby. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive, without trying to get me to buy things I really am not looking for. Several times I have stopped in and discussed general techniques with both the staff and frequenters, always feeling welcome to do so. While the store itself is a bit small to hold any major game events, everything is kept in tip-top shape and well-stocked to make each trip quick and easy. Not to mention the owner has adjusted store hours to make things work out better for regulars.Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but there is free street parking a few blocks away if you are willing to walk it.
My only complaint is that I wish the store was open on Sundays, even if for just a few hours so that I could pick up orders on my way to a...
Read moreThe store is great and the staff is super helpful. The models are well displayed so they are easy to peruse andif you have a question the staff all feels like they are experienced players. The only 2 shortfalls i feel are the size and limits in some areas. The store is a nice cornerstore size but it feels it could only fit 3 games at a time which is only really limiting for bigger events. They also carry a great amount of products but unfortunately are missing some lines which i was excited to have the store for. In summation the store is great and other than the weird hours a...
