Let me preface this review by saying that the food here is really good. I love the variety of bagels and the different types of sandwiches they make. But, their customer service is SEVERLY lacking.
I left my house 15 minutes early this morning to visit the Oreland location because I know that they just opened up and things are a bit hectic still. I walked in to the shop and there was one other person ahead of me. I put in my order and hang back to wait for my BLT bagel. I waited over 20 MINUTES for one bagel. Multiple people came in after me and were served before me. When I finally spoke up, one of the teenagers behind the counter said "Oh I just started that order." Really? You just started the order 15 minutes after I put it in?
I asked to talk to a manager. I was told that they were having issues with their credit card machine so they manager wasn't available. I said "I am really unhappy and I want to speak with someone."
The guy that came to the front was wiping his hands on his dirty apron, so I'm not sure if he was a manager or not. If he was a manager, he really needs some customer service training. I told him what happened, I explained that I have been coming almost every morning since they opened and that I was really displease with the way that I had been handled this morning and that I don't think I'll come back. He looks at me blankly and said "Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," and proceeded to turn around and walk away.
Like I said, the food is delicious. But the place is so disorganized. They have at least 15 highschool aged kids trying to fill orders in a tiny little space. Everyone is running into each other and no one seems to know what they are doing. It is the literal definition of "too many cooks in the kitchen." No one there knows a thing about customer service. I don't want to give my money to people who don't care about their customers.
Edited to add: I gave this place a second chance because the bagels were better than Dunkin Donuts. I've had some issues with them getting my order wrong and waiting a long time, but nothing as bad as the first incident and nothing I couldn't overlook. Then, today I went in and there is a sign that said "minimum credit card purchase $10." I asked the girl at the register if it was new. She said yes. I told her that I rarely carry cash and was disappointed because I probably wouldn't be able to stop for breakfast anymore. She just looked at me and said "ok." That's it. The customer service is still awful at this place and on top of that - who imposes a credit card minimum at a breakfast place? I can't spend $10 on breakfast, that's just ridiculous. I can honestly say that I am done with this place FOR GOOD. What a...
Read moreWorst experience ever. Ordered everything bagel sandwich and cofee. After placing an order and paying money was told that they are out of everything bagels. Ok . I made a sacrifice and ordered it on plain. Got my cofee and asked for creamer. Guess what? They don't have it! Are they trying to sell whatever they have regardless what customer paid for? Just told them to keep money and left this disgusting place. Never again.$16 down the drain.
P.S. After owners reply When I walk in, there were no customers in front if me for at least few minutes. There was enough time to notify cashier. So you ether do not have a procedure in place or your employees just do not care to follow them. Charging over $3 for a cup of coffee and find excuse in untimed delivery is unacceptable! You have an Acme across the street. You could send one of your employees to get it from there as soon as you realized that you run out of something. Or put out sign stating that. Very unprofessional P.S. So after a year I gave them another try. The bagel was good, but the coffee stand was still a joke. No creamer. I think this place only survives because there is no...
Read moreVery basic with long waits. Went here because I saw on Google the owner is involved when reviews happen. The place was clean but the service felt very blah. They have no sides like hashbrown patty or anything like that but it would have been nice. With only 3 people in the place I waited what felt like an eternity for my sandwich. When I finally got my sausage egg and cheese on a garlic bagle it was very bland. The eggs seemed like they were microwaved and was like a meatball of egg in the middle. One bite would have no egg and the next was a mouthfull of egg (See my pictures). The bagle was dry and stiff but had a decent flavor. Overall not impressed and will most likely not be back. Towards the end when they saw me taking pictures and not looking happy, I had the same blah employee come over and ask if everything was ok, just this time very nicely. I think the owner saw my unhappiness and sent her.
In the end, don't go out of your way for this place like I did, it's not worth it. But if it's on your way to somewhere, stop in. It wasn't terrible. I hunt for good breakfast spots as a hobby, so take it from the...
