Have you ever found something you didnāt even know you were missing?! It wasnāt until I decided to try kickboxing at ILKB Jenkintown that I truly felt the significance of taking a class with other people and having the support of knowledgeable, caring, enthusiastic instructors. Thereās so many benefits to taking classes here from getting fit to gaining confidence to meeting awesome people and forming not only support systems but friendships. Iāve found the studio to be my safe space, where I can turn off outside distractions, maybe even leave frustrations at the door or even leave them behind upon departure. Though Iāve had a wonderful experience, drawbacks for some might be the membership fees, but there are different packages to accommodate people, and Iām glad I chose to invest in myself and feel itās well worth it. Also, there is no shower available at the studio, but if Iām honest, it doesnāt bother me because Iāve always been leery about taking showers in public facilities. The studio, does, however keep toiletries on hand for the members (I can only attest to whatās in the womenās restroom) such as feminine products, dry shampoo, body spray and spray-on deodorant. Some people may say their schedule simply doesnāt allow them to get to a class, but there are quite a few offered seven days a week. I actually started off just doing one class a week and went to taking four classes a week within a couple of months. Lastly, you might think, the pictures you see of these chiseled men and women on advertisements may make you apprehensive, but whatever your age, size or goal may be, the instructors will work with you to make it a reality. Iām very happy with my progress as a ILKB Jenkintown member and hope to see you in one of the classes in the...

Upon walking in to sign up for classes/membership, the energy in the room was incredible. I was ready to jump into a class right then and there (which days a lot because I donāt enjoy working out) but the timing was off because I was headed on vacation soon after so they decided to start my membership afterwards I returned (July 19th) which I was thankful for. Almost immediately, I found out my partner was in the beginnings of a very scary and expensive legal situation and realized there was no way for me to afford this at the time. I emailed (August 18th) and requested to cancel my membership before I was charged for the next month. I explained the situation and received absolutely zero grace or empathy. I was simply told I needed 30 days notice in order to cancel and was charged before I even got a response from them denying me. I fully understand and respect policy, but I was never informed that I needed 30 days notice and had I been informed, I wouldāve needed to cancel my membership on the day I was billed for the first month. The lack of understanding was pretty outstanding considering how excited I was to start working out here and fully intended on returning once my partners trial in court was complete. The fact that they chose to capitalize on the most challenging time in my life came off so gross to me and I will be sure to tell everyone I know that this place values money farrrrr more than they...
My friend asked me to join her and I did. I drive past this place and thought it would be nice to do one day. I jumped at the opportunity when I was invited. I got there a few minutes late. Quan had the folks warming up when I got there. I realized I didn't have my asthma inhaler or my water. I ran back to the car in my socks to get them, came back in and jumped into the warm-up. I followed what I saw. Quan then moved me closer to my friend. At this point, the kickboxing is about to begin. Quan, came over knocked the gloves off the bag and told me they are not for me because I came late. I'm sure he was joking at point. He wanted me to continue to do warm-ups. I went along with it and did what I could. I have bursitis in the left knee and a bone spur in the right. My doctor and other gym instructors have always told me to be careful and improvise moves that works and would be easy on your knees. Quan started to do push-ups, planks/mountain climbs, and then burpees. I was improvising and he told me not to do that because he wasn't. I told Quan about the right knee and he said he didn't care. I was taken aback all while trying to control my breathing. I understand the pace of the workout and moved as quickly as I could. I really wanted to be there for myself and to support my friend. I made the decision to leave after Quan was rude. I didn't like the energy after...
