L&H Bridal — Local services in Jenkintown

My "shopping experience" at this shop was worse than horrible for me. After having made my appointment ahead of time, and explained in detail what I needed and how many individuals were coming, I thought this place would be able to accommodate. Our appointment was at 10 am, when they supposedly opened, but when we got there, it was an environment of frenzy and hurried attitude.

Right away, the person who assisted us (COLLEEN) was extremely unprofessional and very quick to change my mind about the designers I wanted (based on a price range I checked, but she never gave me the opportunity to let her know the range was flexible), and pressed me for additional information in a very rushed manner. I didn’t have my mind completely made up about specifics, as things look different in person than they do online.

To make a long story short, she allowed us to pick a lot of dresses to try on, but was clearly annoyed that it took longer than expected to actually try them on. She rolled her eyes a lot, huffed and puffed, and kept checking the time on her watch. Constantly, she would walk away from our area to put dresses back, when there was truly no need to do so. We all felt so incredibly rushed that we were barely sure which dresses we were saying yes or no to. She didn’t say she disliked our taking pictures, but couldn’t have frowned harder when we attempted to. I was confused about what she was doing at one point and wanted to clarify, but before I could, she was audibly pissed off. One of my girls came late (which was discussed during the initial call – so either she didn’t care or the people who work there don’t communicate), and she was pretty much pushed into the dressing room and rushed through 5 or 6 dresses.

On another note, my fiancé was rudely kicked out of the dressing area – of course he couldn’t stay there, we all knew that – including him, but this woman really had a rude attitude and condescending tone when telling (not asking) him to leave.

Either she hated me and my girls on sight or she really did not want to be there – either way, she should have stayed the hell home today.

I thought they would be happy to have my business, considering the fact that we were planning on 10 bridesmaid dresses, 3 tuxes and possibly mother of the bride/groom dresses. When I inquired about purchasing a bridesmaid dress for a wedding I’m in (which again, was communicated before I set foot in the store…), I was asked questions I did not know the answer to, and was made to feel stupid and sad. And if they knew so much would be going on with my wedding party, and they could not accommodate the amount of time it would take, why accept the appointment???

What bride is supposed to feel this way during such a special time in her life? L & H Bridal can have their horrible employee and nasty attitude – I went as a walk-in elsewhere the same day and was treated like a queen, and so were my bridesmaids. I cannot express how upsetting this experience was for me and all who witnessed it with me. You couldn’t pay me a million dollars every day for the rest of my life to set foot in that store again. I could go on and on about what happened today, but honestly, this place isn’t worth it. Good luck to anyone else who dare set foot inside and witness the death stares...

Similar to Christine H's review from a year ago, my experience ended poorly with L&H Bridal What should be a fun time turned into my stressful nightmare. I'm not made of money and every dollar is important when planning a wedding. The staff will definitely take care of you as long as you buy from them. The moment you change your mind they dismiss you as a customer. I put down a small deposit on a gown but I decided to change my mind on the gown. They knew I wasn't 100% on the gown but said "don't worry about the deposit" we won't order it until you pay 50% down. When I did worry about it and told them I changed my mind they sprung a $150.00 cancellation fee on me. I asked for what? They kept referencing a $150 fee that's on the back of my receipt. Nope no mention of this $150.00. I explained that my sister, my mother and my fiance were making purchases still and would love the $150 "fee" to be applied to those purchases. NOPE standing by their policy. After reviewing my receipt with no mention of this $150 fee, they stated it was now posted at the desk since 2012. L&H policy is about as clear as mud. Ok, If this so called cancellation policy has been posted at the desk since 2012, one would assume it doesn't change often! Call me crazy but wouldn't it make sense to put it on the rec we take home? Seems convenient to rip people off at will. All the reviews on here are from people who bought and did business with them was positive. GOD Forbid you change your mind or go in a different direction they become rude and dismissive.

USE extreme caution when buying from them when it comes to their cancellation policy. Keep in mind my dress wasn't ordered and I was still doing additional business with them! (no longer) The company basically took $150 from me because they wanted to. They could have worked with me but decided they wanted to take my money. Its a shame because I did like the girls but God forbid you change your mind on anything the treatment...

welp so much for a fun experience of getting my alterations started! I went to my appointment at L&H bridal, where I started my dress shopping and where my sister got her dress from along with alterations so they kind of know us. I go in make small talk with the women, then go up and put my dress on and wait for the women to do alterations to come in. As im standing there all excited in walks the women (LUCY) with the look of total disgust on her with her arms folded, proceeds to tell me (basically yelling at me) that I might as well just spit in her face because I didnt buy a dress from her and How dare I bring a dress that she has and that I "tired on" in here and ask to "fix it". Regardless whether or not I tried that dress on there and whether or not I bought from them, I was told they do outside alterations and was planning on giving them my business! OKAY, you knew who I was when I called and asked you about outside alterations, YOU knew that I bought a dress elsewhere, If you didnt want to do alterations to a dress that I bought elsewhere you could have told me before I came. but NO you waited until I was there in my dress excited about my alterations to basically spit in my face and make me feel terrible about even going there! Ijust dont understand why someone would treat someone like she did. Im usually pretty peppy with yelling back at people when they act like that, but i was just in awe, totally taken aback at why someone would treat a bride like that. WHEN you do outside alterations??!?!!I I Just went back to the dressing room and cried while taking off my gown! I DO NOT recommend L&H bridal for anything!! Thanks for making me feel horrible and ruining what should of been a fun experience!!! Please dont go here and save yourself the sadness...
