My first time.on this rail as well as in this location and the whole setup is awesome. Maybe I might be a little.spoiled in the fact that the first time I'm literally.riding the railmwith only 2 other passengers and I'm feeling as if I'm getting a personal tour of the surrounding area riding in between these enormous skyscrapers as if I'm in some future getaway. The city, the streets, the rail everything is so spotless and I get a first hand view of it all Like I said, because of the pandemic and stay home orders the streets and rail are empty so its perfect to see how they were able to design this route and I'm wondering how was the land designated when building the rail. Did the city just decide to draw its line and build its stations by picking some land from.different owners or was the Rail and station houses built first and them then land owners built their buildings on their designated properties. The second option would be the easier and most probably way it's just some of these skyscrapers are literally inches of the path as if literally the city had to cut in and use some private land to build this public works project.whatever way and however they accomplished they, it's a success. It just fits perfect in the low landscape and I cant see it being done...
Read moreHBLR is extremely unreliable, NJ Transit will claim they are running on schedule through official channels and their alert app but trains will simply not show up or be late Signs on train platform and the trains themselves are frequently wrong or not on.
Today waited for 45m while signage kept showing the south-bound trains for "blue" line should be arriving in so many minutes but 6+ "yellow" line trains went by instead. Had to choose between jumping on a train that might be miss-labeled or call for a car home.
If you need to be somewhere important by a certain time don't expect HBLR to...
Read moreGreat if you’re staying in the nice parts of jersey city bc trains stop running to west side ave after 10pm. Map says every 35min but trains don’t show up and don’t give updates. Complete disgusting that the train that goes to the last ungentrified part of jersey city gets treated like a wasteland. This totally shows what the NJ transit thinks of the west side ave community. It is normal to wait for an hour + when I come home from work at 10pm. Ubers cost double because everyone is being left stranded at the same time. It feels Embarrassing to depend on this nj transit service to get to...
