My favorite place to have discovered this past summer! It was a hot June summer day after exploring the lower part of Manhattan for their Tribeca Film Festival 2021 promotional popups.
This place was a 10 minute walk from the Ferry that traveled from the lower part of Manhattan to Jersey City. We were so relieved to be away from the heat and into the air conditioned area. I ordered the tiramisu latte (a latte containing an ice cream scoop, a cigar wafer and chocolate shavings) and the S.O.S sandwich (a toasted brioche filled with a scrambled egg with corn, green leaf lettuce, shredded red cabbage, a slice of tomato, and cheddar cheese with kiwi sauce and mayonnaise).
The sandwich was the most beautiful sandwich I have ever seen, with its layers of vibrant colors. It's one of those rare moments where the actual food matched the picture as advertised. I loved the crunch of the lettuce, the tanginess of the picked red cabbage and tomato, the sweetness of the kiwi sauce, and the warm fluffiness of the egg all enveloped with a buttery crunchy brioche toast. I was a bit skeptical at first with regards of the kiwi sauce (as I am not fan of kiwi), but this was the one sauce I wish they sold in jars.
Though I normally drink unsweetened lattes, I thoroughly enjoyed this beverage. I ordered mine with oat milk (which is my usual milk of choice when it comes to lattes because it brings in a nutty taste). It was subtly sweet, creamy, nutty, and crunchy (from the wafer and chocolate).
The interior as well was very modern-woody as I would say. It is very similar to some of the cafes I have visited in the Northern Blvd area of Flushing.

The ambiance literally feels like you are sitting in a garden and enjoying your coffee, while they have seating upstairs too but I guess they have kept some indoor plants for sale too!
The service could be a bit improved upon, when at the counter the barista was busy having some conversation with a colleague whereas while the order was ready, I didn't hear my name being called to collect the order! Either they can provide customers with buzzers or be loud enough so the entire shop can hear your name!
Coming to food and drinks, it was excellent. I went for their signature Tiramisu latte, chose the iced one whereas you also have an option to go for the hot one. The Tiramisu latte felt out of this world, as it had the right amount of oat milk, coffee powder and I guess a bit of vanilla ice cream while topped with a wafer stick which I mistook for cinnamon stick!
Their sandwiches are a must try too as they make it fresh with the bread baked in-house, that's what I felt! I went for the mushroom sandwich, the bread was really soft and it was toasted in the right amount. It had an omelette, aragula, tomato along with mozzarella cheese in it and everything was fresh! There was a bit of truffle sauce too which made it tasty! I really enjoyed it. The prices too are a fair reflection of the quality they are providing.
Overall a great experience, but hope they improve a bit on their service as they have a big potential to be invincible in the JC...
Read moreI am a fan of your cafe and love your coffee and generally your whole team is extremely courteous and lovely. I visit you a few times a week. Today I ordered an extra shot in my cortado and found it stronger than expected for an extra shot. I asked for a little soy milk. I was looking for a tablespoon of soy milk to cut it and your barista absolutely refused that saying she was taught to make it this way. Said she would have to charge me extra. Training like this is detrimental. Being a stickler is demanded when the ask is obscene. I am also in the hospitality business and understand overhead but a tablespoon of soy milk isn’t going to run you dry. Please teach your barista there is an etiquette in allowing small gestures that keep customers coming back to you especially regulars without a bad taste in their mouth. You ran out of tops for your coffee cups, I didn’t mind that and thought the least you could have done was give me a little soy milk to make up for the fact that I paid for the top in the price of that coffee. This has now impacted my ability to recommend you to friends. I am appalled by her behavior and will limit my visits to you to absolute emergencies throughout the year instead of a few times a week. What a shame that is as I really enjoyed supporting your business weekly.
