We had visited once on Saturday night and after a 19 min wait and stopped at the drive-through order and counsel we were informed that they were so backed up on orders it would be another 5 to 10 minutes before they could get to us. Seeing that is a good possibility since it was a Saturday night we gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back on Sunday. At this time from the time we pulled on the lot to the time we pulled off the lot it was 30 min. During our weight when we got up to the drive-through to place our order we were informed that they were out of at least 4 to 5 items it’s a good thing we were not in line waiting for any of those items. After getting our order and driving all the way home we were totally disappointed upon our arrival. What they called chicken strips or chicken something very thin pieces of chicken meat that you couldn’t even measure to get a thickness The batter appear to be something off of fish instead of fried chicken it did not taste right at all. The biscuits were hard the beans had no consistency the meal was an overall zero rating. We have noticed that on our last couple of visits customer service has dropped down to below what would be considered acceptable. whoever is the owner or reviews these or corporate needs to look very hard at this. Line was backed up into Rangeline Road. To say the least and with coupons it wasn’t worth the money. We have given you more than one more than two more than three attempts. This will be the last time that our family will be stopping at the Joplin location. Final note after we left Saturday night we drove across the street to Chick-fil-A we were in and out of there within nine minutes with piping hot food made away or supposed to drinks in hand smile on our face. If the people don’t wanna work there then I will suggest that you find somebody to work at your local...
Read moreThis used to be a great place for blackened chicken tenders, or a family basket of chicken, and their mashed potatoes and biscuits were great.
Months have now turned into years of supply issues leaving common food items hard to get, frequently out of basic sides and even chicken(!), slow drive thru (45-60 minutes at times), mobile orders not being ready for 1.5-2 hours later, and overall complete lack of management and ownership of the store, have left a bad taste in my mouth regardless of whether the food tastes good or not.
Staff is usually ragged, apologizing for everything and just run down in their spirit. I feel sorry for them, and can tell this has been a poorly managed store for quite some time.
To add insult to injury, the Chik-Fil-A across the street processes hundreds of cars/orders in a lunch hour and is one of the best run franchise locations in the country. It may not be a fair fight, but in contrast, this Popeyes Joplin location is not just worse than average, it is hands down, the worst fast food/restaurant experience I’ve ever had, and I have tried many times over the last couple of years to hopefully see corrections to what have been repeated failures at the main function of this establishment. It seems that no amount of negative reviews, calls to corporate or diminished revenue have caused this store to have a turnaround moment it have corrections made.
I miss some of the items here that were different and added some good spice, but at this point, I will never be coming back to this franchise (at any location) as I’ve given them too many chances and they’ve let me down so...
Read moreI am so frustrated at this Popeye's location on Joplin, MO. This has to be the worst ran Popeyes in the nation and no matter how many surveys I complete, nothing changes. The issues are the staff are slow and lazy. The drive thru is always slow. This last visit was the worst as I stopped in around 7:30pm on a Wednesday night for my son, as he really wanted a spicy chicken sandwich. I agreed to take him since he made the basketball team, but in the back of my mind I really did not want to endure the wait in the drive thru. As we pulled into the lot the line was about 7 cars deep and I was able to squeeze in, but I noticed several cars in the parking spaces waiting for their orders. While waiting in line, I noticed employees bringing the orders to customers, and walking nonchalantly as if there was no urgency. I saw another employee swinging the bag of food!
After waiting in the drive thru line for about 10 minutes, I was able to place my order and surprisingly, the cashier was friendly and courteous. In most visits to this location, I'd be lucky to get a response when I greet the cashier.
I'm including a picture of the fries from my order as they were thrown in the bottom of the bag from my son's Spicy Chicken Sandwich combo. Not sure if that is how they are supposed to come, but thought it was not prepared correctly.
What amazes me about this location is they are directly across one of the best Chick Fil A franchises in the nation, yet they make no attempt to step up their game. I watch 4 lines across the street processed before I can get my order in.
Please fix...
