Best peanut butter fudge I’ve ever had! The texture and taste are both perfect. I’m not normally a chocolate fudge person, but even that was exceptional, too [their Klondike No-Nut Milk Chocolate]. My only complaint is that there aren’t locations nationwide (I’m from Maryland and we don’t have fudge that’s this tasty)! Definitely stop by and try The Alaska Fudge Co. while you’re in Juneau!
**UPDATE: After being so impressed with their peanut butter, I’ve gone back to try more flavors. They said these will keep for about 2 weeks at room temperature. If you order a half pound, you can get two different flavors (a slab of each).
Fool’s Gold (peanut butter) - my absolute favorite. I got this the first day and it’s softer than the others; I’m not sure if that’s because of it being peanut butter, which is naturally softer, or the batch having a different ratio of ingredients. But the flavor is very well balanced and the texture is incredible. Peanut butter fudge is always my favorite flavor fudge, so I didn’t expect any different… but the quality and taste beats any other fudge I’ve had.
Klondike No-Nut (*there’s two varieties, I got both): *Milk Chocolate - by far my second favorite. Much firmer than the peanut butter, but the chocolate is very well balanced. It’s sweet, but not overly sweet. *Semi-Sweet - the only flavor I’m not crazy about. It has almost an acidic/bitter aftertaste in my opinion. However, if you don’t like your fudge to be sweet, this would be a great option.
Penuche (Maple & Brown Sugar) - my third favorite. Very sweet, but also very strong maple flavor, which I loved!
Mocha Moose (semi-sweet chocolate & coffee) - the case listed this as dark chocolate and coffee. As I mentioned above, I wasn’t crazy about the semi-sweet chocolate, but I would prefer this one over the regular semi-sweet because the coffee really balances it out by adding that extra flavor. If you’re the type, like I am, to enjoy drinking a shot of espresso, then this is for you. It’s not something I would get on a regular basis, but a great treat every once in a while. Another great option for someone who prefers less-sweet fudge. The coffee was too strong for my husband, so it’s definitely not for everyone - you have to REALLY...
Best Chocolate Chip Cookie You've Ever Had! While visiting Juneau, I made my way down the line of shops and couldn't help but smell the deliciousness coming from this little storefront. At first glance, you'll see fudge and candies, but make no mistake - this place sells the BEST chocolate chip cookie I've ever had in my life! You won't see a picture of it in my review because I already ate it! When I pulled the cookie in half to share, the chips were still warm from baking and gooey, which surprised me because it was the second to last cookie on their sheet. To me, this means they sell them quick because they're so good. The smell from outside is clearly from the cookies. Do yourself a favor- when visiting Juneau, run past the trinket shops and head right to the Alaskan Fudge Co for one of...
Read more"I'm disappointed with my recent experience at the Alaskan Fudge Company. After signing up for their newsletter, I didn't receive the promised 20% discount promo email. Their website also wouldn't process my order.
When I visited the store, the clerk dismissed my concerns about the discounts and website promotions, blaming it on a third-party issue. Despite their marketing efforts promising sales and discounts, I was charged full price ($198.00).
As a customer, I expect honesty and integrity, especially from local shops. Unfortunately, my experience felt greedy and dismissive. I hope they revisit their customer service and...
