I had not shopped in this store for 10-15 years. I had recently visited another Hallmark store and had a wonderful experience so decided to stop in here since it was a closer one to me. In the store I asked about an item that was on the shelf. I asked the associate (who was clearly irritated that I asked anything of her at all) if that was the last one because I didn't want to just take off the shelf if it was not. She said yes and I told her that the bottom of item said that there was a box for it. She grabbed it and walked away and got the box and began packing it up. I then asked if another item was the last and she said yes, so I took the box and the item to her at the register where she was boxing. She clearly was more annoyed at this point. I was extremely nice to her and there was no reason to act that way. The manager (I didn't realize she was the manager until later) of the store was talking with a customer about an item and then scolded the customer, an elderly lady, and told her that she could just purchase it on Amazon. The lady walked out with her family. Manager proceeds to tell the associate that I dealt with about the interaction, loudly, and how she was crazy. I asked the manager if an item was half off and she very rudely said "uh no". I said "oh ok, I was just checking as this same item was half off at the other store". She said "that's a local artist". I said "I do realize that and that the other store said that the artist was allowing them to offer it half off since it was a Christmas item". She said "no" again rudely. I went to check out and she was very clearly annoyed with anyone at the register. I will never return to this store. I was shocked at the rudeness of her with the elderly lady and then both she and the other girl with me and with others that I saw. Night and day from the Hallmark store that I had visited earlier in the day in...
Read moreI was less than impressed with the customer service here. I have had the Hallmark rewards card for some time now but never took advantage of the free just because cards. I had received and email stated free card just for dad's day. So I thought why not. I went in, grabbed a father's day card for $2.99 and checked out. She rang up the card and put the card in a bag along with an envelope seal. The cashier then went to put the receipt in the bag when I mentioned that this was my first time ever using this reward, even though I had had the card for awhile, which she then proceeded to tell me she couldn't sell it to me because it was the wrong card. 🤦 So she then proceeded to show me where the "just because" cards are and I asked why the email said dad's day but none of the just because cards were for father's day and she said I don't know. She then tells me she is going to have to return the card she already sold me and that I can either pay the $2.99 or she can just void the transaction. I told her to just void it because I was trying to use the reward. She couldn't figure out how to void the transaction so she had to get the manager involved, who was in the back, to explain how to void the transaction. It wasn't the best customer service experience I have had and I definitely didn't feel valued...
Read moreI went into Kirlin's to pick up a couple ornaments. When I walked in Ali made it clear to me they were closing in 10mins. Not can I help you find something then she went back up to the counter to chat with the other 2 employees. Never once did any of them ask to help me. If you don't want me in there I will be glad to shop online for future purchases. I have stopped going to this store for the most part and will drive over to Amy's or I will just avoid this store from now on. I tried yet again giving this store another shot but yet again was very disappointed in the customer service. I get you want off on time but I had 10 minutes and you didn't want my business clearly! I was out of there in 5 minutes and got exactly what I wanted and did not look for anything else. Kirlin's you should do better. This was far from the first time going in that the employees are just standing at the counter chatting! One day there will not be stores to go in and see things in person and there will not be jobs for...
