I move around a lot so I've been to many post office locations. This was by far my worst experience. I was there on a Tuesday around lunch time so it was expected that it would be particularly busy. There were only two people working but one was only consistently helping people at the counter (the other was helping with a lot of passport things it seemed). I understand that due to COVID, many workforces have been depleted, so again, the wait time was not my issue. When I arrived, I had three shirts that needed to be mailed priority so I planned to pick up a box there. There were no envelopes or boxes in the priority shipping stand so as to package my item before getting to the counter or using the automated machine. I waited in line and handed my one return package to the woman who gave me an envelope for my other items. She asked me to step aside so she could help someone else. When I was finished, I wanted to give the package to her and I needed a receipt for these items. Before I could even speak she told me to set my package to the side because it was so busy and did not offer a receipt for either package (one was a return worth over $600). Because she was helping someone else, I did not interject to ask for one. Two days later my packages still have not been scanned as accepted or processed. I went back to see if they could check on them but because I didn't have a receipt, they could not. I explained my situation and was met with incredibly rude responses and blamed for the situation. I was told there was nothing I could do and next time I should just use the machine. I was also told that I should have requested a receipt and it wasn't the clerk's fault because she was new (I mailed a package two months ago and she was there and had been told by her supervisor to ask if I wanted a receipt) so I know she was not new and knew better. The responses I received today were incredibly rude and unhelpful. I called customer support for the overall post office and the man I spoke to was nice, understanding, and helped me in understanding the process and learning about where my package was. He also filed a ticket documenting my experience and sent it to this location. I will not be returning to this location, even if it means I have to drive to a further location. I would encourage anyone to avoid this location. Read the reviews here, you'll notice that people are continuously met with rudeness upon entering...
Read moreAfter living in the delivery zone for this location for 9 months, they've failed to deliver more packages than they've successfully delivered, when you call it's always someone else's fault somehow and when they give you the number for the other department, no one answers. Yet after you call to let them know they failed to deliver it for no discernable reason, it suddenly shows up the next day.
They failed to deliver a package once because they said it didn't fit in the parcel locker, yet the NEXT DAY, behold, it magically was in there fitting fine. Not even an angles thing, it was a plain box inside a square locker. I called about another missing delivery that I only knew failed because of Amazon notifying me, the USPS didn't leave any notice, and did not attempt to deliver it the next day, and I got told to "call back if it wasn't delivered later" (it was not flagged for redelivery, apparently) and then told to call another department that maybe had it. And of course 25 minutes of trying to call with no answer, no machine, not even a "can you please hold"
I have occasionally had issues with deliveries everywhere I've lived, everyone has. But this is far and away the worst I have ever had...
Read moreI mailed an important letter to Kansas City via "certified mail". I got my nice green and white receipt with the tracking number (9589 0710 5270 2323 5371 47), and the letter never showed up... My local post office said there was nothing I could do other than file a claim, which would not helpe me find the letter. I then made the mistake of AGAIN sending that letter by certified mail (9589 0710 5270 2338 5080 64), and that letter never made it there either. If you type either of these tracking numbers into the online USPS tracking you will see that it says "out for delivery". These letters were sent in December 2024 and January 2025, same letter, KC MO USPS lost BOTH OF THEM... My take home lesson is that if there is an important letter like this (that can't be emailed) I will either deliver it by hand, or use FEDEX or UPS. Never again will I trust USPS with anything important, and just so you know, from my mistake, mailing a letter "certified" doesn't guarantee squat... other than a green piece of paper with a...
