Best BBQ in Kansas City! I have tried them all, Q39, Arthur Bryant's, Gates etc, and Jack Stack is by far superior. They check all of the boxes, great BBQ, great BBQ sauces, great sides, great service, and great ambiance! I have been to Jack Stack several times and several locations over the years and every single time they are consistently excellent in all aspects. This round we ordered from the family style que section and had the "Jack's Best" which came with one crown prime beef rib, pork ribs, and beef burnt ends. We added the beef brisket to our order as well. Our waitress brought us all 3 BBQ sauces (regular, a mild hot and a spicy) for our sides we had broccoli with roasted garlic butter which was steamed to perfection and the paramesean cheese added another dimension of flavor. The beans are sooo flavorful with meat and bbq sauce. These are a must and need to be ordered and tried by EVERYONE. The creamy cheese corn is also untouchable and sooooo good. The burnt ends are true burnt ends and are always pull apart tender and seasoned to perfection. The brisket again, is tender and flavorful, and the baby back pork ribs are smoked and loaded with flavor also! My favorite and is an absolute must to order also is the Crown prime beef rib. This is the Brontosaurus rib with the most tender meat of them all...
Waitress and waiters have always been top notch and right on top of things. One time we were able to sit next to the massive fire place which added to the enjoyment of our meal.
My only gripe about Jack Stack was that I purchased several bottles of their bbq sauce to give out as gifts, once we traveled back home we noticed one of them was leaking from the cap area. I called only to leave a message and never received a call back. So I wrote a letter to them and again, never received a letter back. In turn, I will never purchase their bbq sauce from them.
Bypass the thought process of where to go try the best Kansas City BBQ and just go straight here. You will not be...
Read moreYou GUYS. A 100% MUST for BBQ in KC. I came at 4:30PM and there was an hour wait. I just walked to the bar and I was so lucky one of the high top tables was open. Pro tip - the bar area (not the booths) is open seating so always smart to put your name down, and then go grab a drink at the (FULL SERVICE) bar and keep an eye out for a table. I tried the smoked salmon dip to start which was very good, I just wasn’t expecting it to be a cold dish so I was a little sad - but only my fault! After that — BOY! I got the pick two combo and I did the lamb ribs and a whatever ribs were the most expensive ones? Prime something - I’m on vacation so I splurged. Okay those expensive ribs were HUMONGOUS. they were fall off the bone delicious. Also, my sides were the house favorites which were cheesy corn and baked beans - also phenomenal. My server Jason was exceptional. It was a pleasure to watch him literally working the room all night making sure everyone was taken care of. This man knows the true meaning of hospitality. Last - I’m NOT a huge dessert person - but the lady at my hotel said the carrot cake was a must have. Especially, I’m NOT a fan of carrot cake. But Jason actually convinced me. He said it was “like a cinnamon roll”. What you need to know about Jason, he is not a liar. It. Was. Amazing. Also, have to shout out Isaac who was working the bar the whole time (I was at a table in the bar area). Isaac was also a sweetheart and a master of hospitality. I had very limited time traveling here from Houston and I was really excited I made time for...
Read moreSat at the bar since there was a 25 min wait, even at 130 pm. Only place was next to the automatic glass dishwasher that was pumping out steam. The steam wasn't an issue, but the smell of the steam was that of a very old, dirty dish rag that had been sitting in the sink for weeks. I asked to move and it was no issue. In my new spot I sat under a light that had a fan directly below it. This caused a strobe light effect directly onto myself and a couple of people around me. While not a huge issue, it was slightly annoying and not something I would have expected to deal with coming to a seemingly well-respected, liked, and recommended place like this.
When I asked to move from my original spot, I had asked for a straw for my drink. I did not get that straw until I got my food which was about 40 minutes later. The food was amazing. The pork ribs were smoky and almost fall off the bone. The brisket was very flaky and had the perfect amount of smoke. There was no need for any BBQ sauce for anything, even though they give it to you and it also did taste good.
The bathroom situation I exlerienced was a little odd. There are only two stalls in the mens room. Both were ccupied when I went in, forcing me to wait. One person left and I took their stall. The person in the other stall didn't get done until after I completed. That person was one of the kitchen workers. Doesn't seem like great customer service to make your own customers wait for a stall like that. This place has plenty of money to expand the bathrooms or at least make an...
