13 ago I went to return a pair of pants to a Macy's. I had the pants, the receipt, and the original form of payment, but the clerk asked if I "had the tags for them." Apparently they were doing so poorly that they were trying to make returns harder for the customer by requiring the original price tags. Somehow, this short-sighted way of making things harder on the customer didn't help their store, and they closed down a year later. What a surprise!
I hadn't seen that again until I went to this 5.11 location to return something. They asked if I had the tags, even though I had the receipt, original form of payment, and the item was in perfect condition. They tried to tell me that when the receipt says that returns must be in "like new condition," that this means the tags are still on it.
So, instead of making the return and shopping for some more things, I just left. From now on I'll just use this store to try on sizes and then go order online since returns will be simply a matter of dropping them off at a UPS store. 5.11 will still get my business, but this location won't. I don't know how they're doing on sales, but wouldn't be surprised if they shut this location down like they did with that Macy's location years back.
If I were at corporate and heard this was going on, I'd immediately fire the manager responsible for making such an amateur, short-sighted policy; making things harder on the customer has never been part of any successful...

Katie was so excited to help me out and found multiple styles in my size for me to try while providing actual solid information on how they would fit. I ended up loving the Shella pants which unfortunately they only had 1 pair in stock in my size. Katie looked at me and said to not worry and that I was going to get these pants. She called multiple stores and set up everything, so the pants were getting shipped to me. This helped a lot because I donât drive down this way often. I went into this store thinking I might buy 1 maybe 2 pairs of pants. I left having bought 4 pairs and felt so seen by both Katie and Gabbyâs customer service. It was the first time in my adult life that I actually enjoyed shopping for pants. These women are awesome and super knowledgeable of the products. I was able to exchange two pairs of un-opened pants I bought from the online store for a size smaller. Good color selection for the pants. Kyle showed me the knee pad inserts for my Taclite Pro pants which are a no brainer for me since I am a tradesman that has to kneel on the job a lot. I will definitely be back for more and will tell my friends. I had never considered âtacticalâ pants as a good option for my work pants until recently and I am glad there is a local retail...
