I saw Co-owner Lauren Farrell's Facebook post advertising a 50% off books sale at Carousel Kids of Kennett Square so my 7 month son and I checked it out today. From the moment I walked in until the moment I left, I had a wonderful experience at this store!
Co-owner Sean Farrell saw me coming and rushed to open the door for me and help me get my stroller into the store. He welcomed me in with a smile and informed me about the deals today (the book sale I came for, and a "fill a bag" sale on select shoes, clothes, and accessory items which I didn't know about but was more than happy to take advantage of!)
Sean continued to check on me periodically to see how I was doing, but not in an annoying or salesy way. I was in and out of the store over the period of about an hour and a half while I perused everything the store had to offer and simultaneously tended to my son. When he fell asleep in the middle of my shopping, Sean lowered the music in the store which wasn't necessary but so very kind. He also helped me to get everything packed up and back outside, holding the door for me once again.
In addition to the extraordinary customer service, the store is neat and clean, well organized, and has a wonderful selection of new and gently used maternity and children's clothing, toys, etc. The sales I got today were awesome! I snagged 12 books in great condition, originally priced to total $40 and $20 after the sale. I "filled a bag" with 18 items for my son and one maternity shirt. I could have fit more in the bag but wanted to leave plenty for others to choose from (there was a lot available!) The tags on the items I got added up to at least $65.84 - I say "at least" because the maternity shirt and one baby shirt had tags but no price so their value isn't included. All of that for $25 is an absolutely incredible deal!
The Farrells and Carousel Kids Kennett Square are wonderful and I would definitely shop...
Read moreI’ve been there twice now and in my opinion it’s overpriced…they do have a lot of clothing, toys and baby accessories but you can definitely find most things cheaper else where.
This recent time I went and bought a toy for my kids and when I got home I thought let me just see how much this actually goes for in store and Amazon because I felt it was a bit much after I bought it. When I looked it up it was the same price I paid but for more pieces in other stores and online. It’s on me for buying it but I wasn’t aware at the time I could find it somewhere else at a cheaper price.
I am kinda disappointed to be honest. I’m honestly not sure if I’ll be back. I thought as a consignment shop that sells used items you would get a little more for your money.
As far as customer service they are very friendly and willing to help if needed. It’s just not what I was expecting personally when I saw this place...
Read moreI went in to Carousel Kids for the first time a few weeks ago to sell them clothing items my child has out grown. I have never done this before so I was a little nervous and unsure how this worked. However, the drop off was very easy and the offer for my items was fair.
I was informed that my offer would be higher if I chose to accept store credit as my form of payment. I could not resist this deal! The inventory of clothes, toys, and other items exceeded all my expectations, so of course I jumped at the opportunity of money that I was going to spend there anyway.
Also, the customer service is top notch! Since my first visit to Carousel Kids, I have returned a few times. The gentleman behind the counter is always so welcoming and woman I have spoken to about my consignment items is always quick...
