We were very excited to purchase our couch and ottoman from La-Z-Boy for the first time. Tim was our sales person and when we were placing the order at the store he tried to pressure us to do delivery rather than pick up because there were no warehouse people that could help us. But since we wanted it sooner we decided to pick it up this weekend. He made some comments about how he doesn't want to help and told us to bring lots of friends to help. He also said everything should be in by Thursday. This Friday we got a voice-mail saying our couch was at the store ready for pick up. We called the store to confirm all the pieces were in before we got there. But when we got there our ottoman was not there. Tim gave us an option to come pick all of the pieces up in 2 weeks or take the couch now then pick up the ottoman later. No apologies for their mistakes. We showed our frustration and he finally offered us a free delivery for the missing piece. When we placed our order he said everything should be in the warehouse in Chicago and all of them should be delivered at the same time. Also, when we went inside to let them know that we were there to pick up the couch he was making comments like "why didn't I schedule this for delivery? You guys should've been here when I am not here so I don't have to help you. It would've been someone else's problem." Just lots of complaints when in reality he just opened the door to the warehouse for us and just left us in there alone. He told us to just close the door when we leave. I didn't expect much help carrying the furniture because we were aware of the warehouse situation but those comments were absolutely unprofessional and his attitude towards having to help us pick up the couch was absolutely unnecessary. Read moreSo far not real impressed. Lack of communication from anyone over there. I understand there have been delays in getting furniture to anybody. Ordered furniture and was told someone would contact me to let me know the order went through and when we may expect delivery. Nothing.....I finally called to ask and got someone to respond after a couple of calls. We were told as a guess we would get our furniture maybe 3 a half months after we ordered it. Expected date passed.....no one uttered a word.....Called....did not get a return call. Called again....was told the date was moved out to 6 and a half months from order. Not that anyone tried to let me know. I had to find out for myself. Hoping to eventually actually receive the furniture we ordered but that just seems to be the new America. Not impressed with the way the store has handled this to date. Really need to work on communication to the customer. Just terrible.
06/08/22 Update. 6 month later and still waiting for my furniture. No communication from the store. I did call and they said it was in a warehouse in Chicago. Would be in Grand Rapids by end of week. Then they didn't know why it wasn't delivered from Chicago to Grand Rapids but would deliver the furniture at no charge when they were able to get it. No furniture yet but they charged my account for the balance. Guess there's no delay in that. Right hand has difficulty knowing what the left one is doing. At last! 6 1/2 months after ordering and some experiences later....our furniture is here! And to be fair I have to add that they delivered it to our home at no cost to us due to the problems we had. Read moreThe store manger was very nice and helpful, here’s the big issue we had. We had bought stain protection for our light colored couches. The Protection plain was a 5 yr plan. A couple of years after having the couch we noticed that water was starting to stain the couch. Once our kids became a little older we would let them have water cups that were supposed to be leakproof, but we’re not fully, Which should be fine. If you have a stain protector water should be no issue We noticed that the stains were getting worse with the water. We never let anything else on these couches besides water. We got a hold of La-Z-Boy, and they gave us the number to the people that put the state protection on our couch. They came and cleaned the couch, making the water stain even bigger.We called them to let them know it was worse and that we still had little stain still on other seats from water. The company said water should not be staining these couches so we reached out to the manager who said the same exact thing so he emailed somebody else that was higher up. She emailed us back stating that it was a accumulation of stains, and that does not cover under protection. It’s and accumulation because we’ve been fighting with them for over a year and it’s water stains. If stain protection is supposed to protect against stains it should definitely protect against water, stains, and for how much we paid for these couches. It is quite ridiculous that we are having this issue. I will never buy from Lazy boy again nor will I recommend them to anyone. I have never had a fabric stain because of water.
