Where has customer service gone? I went into this store with a DEAD key fob for my car. It was dead because I was in the Greensboro store the day before and purchased a new battery & had it installed with a lifetime warranty for my carâs key fobs. I was with a friend so my car was not with me. When we returned to my car the next day my key fob did not work . I could not even unlock my doors to get inside. It was extremely frustrating & challenging to open my key fob to get my emergency key.. Thank goodness I had friends to help. I went directly home got my other fob & went to my local Batteries Plus store in Kernersville. I was the only customer in the store. I explained my problem & expressed my frustration with what had happened & handed the associate my keys. He showed no empathy, only said I would have to pay for the 2nd fob. I told him I purchased the lifetime warranty for the key fobs for my car. He said I was mistaken. It did not work that way.and that only one key was covered per lifetime warranty. I asked if he could make an exception since that was my understanding & also for the inconvenience of installing a DEAD battery. He took the keys to the the back. It took him about 15 minutes to replace both batteries. I heard him talking to someone else in the backroom explaining my problem. When he returned he said I could purchase ANOTHER lifetime warranty on the 2nd key or just pay the one time fee. I expressed my disappointment and paid the one time fee. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED that an exception was not made & that possibility the Manager in the back did not come out &...
Read moreI began having issues with my car starting on October 7, 2025. This prompted me to have my battery tested at a local automotive store. The representative confirmed that the battery was faulty. To be sure, I sought a second opinion at another store, and they also verified that the battery was bad. Since the battery was still under its three-year warranty, I contacted Batteries Plus for assistance.
I contacted Batteries Plus to report that my car battery was completely dead. The representative advised me to bring it in so they could fully charge and test it. I left it overnight, and the next morning, I was told the battery tested good. I picked it up and everything seemed fine at first.
However, about two weeks later, my car wouldnât start again; the same issue returned. I called the store and spoke with John, the manager, who told me to bring the battery back for another full charge and retest. Once again, they insisted the battery tested fine. Despite their claims, every other place I took the battery to for testing said it was bad.
It felt as though the store was trying to avoid honoring the warranty by repeatedly recharging and retesting the same defective battery instead of replacing it. This process was frustrating, time-consuming, and left me without a reliable solution.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing a battery or related service from Batteries Plus. I will not be returning as a customer and would advise others to seek service or car batteries elsewhere since they do not value honest testing and dependable...
