Our experience with Captain Barry and First Mate Eric was the best we've had fishing on vacation--it was an awesome time! Our family enjoys fishing on vacation and our trip with Rampage was exactly what we were looking for--a private charter for a few hours of fishing and the added bonus of a lot of fish-catching, and a little bit of swimming. We were bottom-fishing and caught sharks, yellow-tails, blue runners, and red groupers.

From the moment we arrived at the dock we were warmly welcomed and easily settled in for a morning of fishing and swimming. We are all novice fishers and Eric was incredibly helpful and patient with us and our two boys--ages 7 & 11. He worked incredibly hard throughout our trip to make sure that we were having a great time--he was attentive to who needed bait or help to reel in a fish. Barry and Eric even had one last surprise at the end of the trip for us--feeding the Tarpin. We caught enough fish to take to a nearby restaurant and have cooked for lunch with left-overs. Our trip on Rampage Fishing Charters was a highlight of our family vacation to the Keys.

Yes, we caught fish. However, they were all barely over keeper size. We went to one spot and stayed there never looking for a spot that could possibly have larger fish. Captain Barry spent the majority of his time in the cabin leaving his first mate, Ray, in charge. The captain was very quick to come out of the cabin to take a photo of a fish that was an inch or two over keeper size, but there were only a few he deemed big enough to photograph. The photos are deceptive because he has you hold the fish way out in front of you. One of us hooked a shark but neither the first mate or the captain, who was in the cabin, gave advice on how to land it. The day we fished happened to be the first mates first time working on a boat. He didn't know how to bait a hook or take the fish off. He was never really sure of the type of fish we were catching or if they were keepers. Booked a charter for 6ppl and wish we fished with someone else. The captain could care less about the customers. He only left the harbor and wouldn’t move spots (deep sea fishing my a$$) the mate was nice and knowledgeable. He took some of our fish for his aquarium on the dock which was just weird. Also tried to sell us a time share lol all in all just a scam. I would definitely book with another company next time.

In regards to your response... so when we got back to the dock your saying you did not try and sell us a time share??? That’s a lie! Also as far as fishing in the bay. We had muiltiple occasions where the bite stopped a good captain would have moved. Even if it’s 50’ away but no you payed in the cabin playing on your phone. I did not book the trip as it was for my wedding and a gift from my father in law. Who has fished in Key West starting in the 80’s. He also agreed your charter was the worst he has been on. I think you can make it better by putting in more of an effort and not trying to sell your stupid time...
