This has to be one of the funnest things we have done in Key West and we have done basically everything on the island. We were lucky enough to it just being the two of us on the cruise so it was that much nicer. Our Captain Kristen was awesome and knew so much about the island. It was a lot of fun to learn from a local while taking in all of the scenery! I can't explain the feeling of being on the BLUE ocean while on a tiki boat. It was pure paradise! The tour took us right next to Mallory Square where we got to wave at all the sunset watchers. The look on their faces were priceless. Then around Sunset Key and then around Christmas tree island. The water was smooth, which kept the tiki boat from rocking.
The cruise is BYOB which was fine, we were able to bring what we were in the mode to drink and not be tied down to a specific menu. Just make sure to bring mixers if you are bring bottles of liquor. I missed that and had to run over to the bar to grab some juice. I cannot express this enough, but you MUST add this to your list of things to do on...
Read moreDefinitely recommend this experience if you have the time. Great for solo, couples, families, kids. I went with a group of three and there were two other strangers who were on the boat (so five people total, plus the captain).
We met the captain at the dock, then once everyone was situated we set off to the open water, eventually stopping at a sandy area not too far from the shore. We spent a couple hours drinking, relaxing, and wading. The captain provided water and soft drinks in a cooler with ice, plus another cooler that was just filled with ice so we could store our own beverages (love love loved this).
We got exactly what we wanted which was an afternoon out on the water with music, drinks,...
Read moreIn short: an absolutely awesome way to spend a few hours! My wife, my brother, and I launched a 3hr sandbar cruise from Hurricane Harbor with three other folks aboard and Wendy as our guide, who turned out to be a total rockstar. She was super friendly, funny, fun, and really knowledgeable about the area, the waters, and the marine flora and fauna. She even showed us some “eco sh*t” (lol!) out on the sandbar, pointing out a sea star and a few other random critters. Wendy handled our fun energetic crew with ease, and was really a huge bonus to our entire day. Really just a fantastic excursion for residents (my wife and I) and visitors (my bro) alike, and we hope to do it again someday...
