I would give this place 5 stars but the portions were a little small! The food was delicious and the staff was absolutely fantastic! Exactly what you would expect in a small town bbq place but we were in Key West! I got the bacon hush puppies which were freakin awesome, especially with that sauce they make. But I also got the burnt ends, mac and cheese and collard greens. It was TO DIE FOR! The greens were so buttery and delicious with a nice kick. The Mac was creamy, cheesy and delicious. THE BURNT ENDS THOUGH.. they were melt in your mouth, flavorful and had a great spice. My husband got the sliced brisket, Mac and cheese and cornbread. The brisket was tender, delicious and juicy. The fat was rendered perfect! The cornbread was soft and still warm. It was all so damn good! We just wish there was more of it! For the price, which is to be expected in an island, we were expecting a little more. Not anything crazy but just a little more. For $70 we should not have left there still hungry.

Great food, but pricey. Being from the south, we had hoped to find a good BBQ place while on our stay in Key West and this place delivered. The pulled pork was great and tender. The sausage was tender as well with a good spiciness to it. Baked beans too had a good spiciness to them. The staff was super friendly and the choices of sauces and drinks were good. Parking is ample and is on the East side of the restaurant (parking lot adjacent to the red-light intersection) and the entrance to the walkway to the restaurant is easy to miss. Throwing your scraps over the side of the boat at the end of your meal is interesting as hundreds of Red Snappers scoured them up. The down side for us; the prices are pretty high. A meal for two was over $50. We ordered a pork plate and a double plate and a couple drinks. The sweet tea was more like a northern version of sweet tea vice the south as it wasn’t very sweet.

The restaurant is a boat docked at the pier in Key West. We ate after the sunset, which made it difficult to see our food, as the downstairs isn't lit very well. There are tables upstairs outside, but they were full tonight. The staff is super friendly. Disappointed that we weren't able to try the Kansas City burnt ends; they're available Friday and during the week if they're not sold out. But once they're gone, they're gone. I had the half chicken, pulled pork, cornbread, and potato salad. The chicken and pork were really good. I had wished the skin on the chicken was cooked more, but the flavor was great. The potato salad was different. Not a lot of potatoes and it has a strong garlic taste, very flavorful, but potent. They offer 4 sauces- 2 mild and 2 hot. It's not cheap as it cost my family of 4 over $100, but BBQ usually isn't cheap. My husband wasn't a big fan, but I was satisfied.

SMOKED BBQ WILL REFUSE SERVICE TO YOU IF THEY DON’T LIKE YOUR TIP!

On 12 February 2019, I called Smoked BBQ and spoke to David to place an order for delivery. When it came time to give my address, David told me the delivery driver refused to deliver to my address. As a local, I’ve ordered Smoked BBQ for delivery to my address several times before with no issue. I asked David, who identified himself as a manager, why the delivery driver refused to deliver to my house, to which he informed me he did not know. I find it hard to understand why a member of management would not know why a delivery driver for his restaurant refuses to delivery to a particular residence. Nonetheless, David said he’d ask the delivery driver and call me back. Roughly 15 minutes later, David called me back. David told me the delivery driver, Kirk (I believe that was his name), said the last time he delivered to my address he didn’t like the tip amount and said it isn’t worth his time to drive to Key Haven and the amount I tipped was too low. Of note, it took 45 minutes for my food to show up to my house, was not warm to the touch, and I still tipped the driver. The last time I checked, tipping was not a requirement and was a discretionary amount a customer can chose to add to their bill should the service warrant it. I immediately asked to speak to a manager, to which David told me he was one of the managers and although he said he did not agree with it, there is nothing he could do because the restaurant has already gone through two other less than mediocre delivery drivers and if he went against this third driver, he risked losing him. Ultimately, David refused to continue with my order.

Let’s recap… I called to order from Smoked BBQ that advertises delivery to Key Haven and has delivered to Key Haven on multiple previous occasions, only to be told the last tip the delivery driver received was not to his liking, so he refused to deliver to my address anymore. Then, after discussing the issue with the manager, I was told although he disagreed with the delivery driver, there was nothing he could do and refused to place my order. The fact that a delivery driver can dictate the policies of a business against management is beyond me. Refusing service because you do not like a tip for delivering food is ridiculous and absurd. If management believes the driver should receive more, than add a delivery charge. However, the customer should not have to fear whether they will be allowed to order again based on the discretionary tip they add to their bill for mediocre service.

I’d strongly recommend you spend your local dollar elsewhere. Spend it at an establishment that respects the business of a local and where a customer’s satisfaction comes first. These are not traits that I experienced from David and Kirk at Smoked BBQ on 12...

Edit: Sauces were also delicious 😋!!

"Smoked BBQ is a barbecue restaurant trusted by over 10000 people from Key West and from other countries true to its special and delectable barbecue sauces and chicken.

The sauce selection was great, especially the hot sauce ones.

It is very spacious enough for an amazing experience. Many customers!! It is as bad as it seems, but thanks to them, they have a cool line

The ribs was a specialty. This night I was craving for salad, so I ordered cucumber salad. It was as yummy as it seems.

×What I ordered×

Appetizers ✴️Fries ✴️Pulled pork sandwich

Sandwiches ✴️Chi-Town Brisket Sandwich ✴️Normal sandwich

Dessert ✴️Pie

Barbecue ✴️Ribs ✴️Wings ✴️Chicken Wings ✴️Smoked corn on the cob ✴️Smoked Potato Salad

Sausage It was sweet and savory, giving it a more delectable flavor.

The appetizers were absolutely yummy.

The combination of hot sauce and normal sauce is better for our chicken wings.

The pie for dessert is not similar to other pies in Key West. Typically, it is creamy and fluffy.

Chicken wings are mouthwatering.

In a relaxing and spacious room, I enjoyed having a date with my boyfriend in...

We went here for lunch and ordered the brisket burnt ends but were informed that they were out because it takes a few days to make. The people in line behind us were also disappointed because they wanted the same thing. If you are out of an item then why have it handwritten on the dry erase board outside of the front door entrance?

I ended up ordering the brisket. It was sliced very thin, like deli meat and was overcooked and extremely dry. It also had lots of fat that should have been trimmed off. I have eaten brisket at many different restaurants in states around the US and have never seen brisket ruined like this by being sliced so thinly. There wasn’t much flavor. The smoked potato salad was soupy and didn’t seem to have any smoked flavor either.

I asked for a cup of water and was told that since they are on a boat that they only offer bottled water for sale. This made me wonder how sanitary is this place?

If you happen to need to wash your hands or use the restroom you will need to walk across a large parking lot. There isn’t anything onboard the boat.

We would not recommend this...
