Small location. Owner is friendly and helpful but mostly sports cards/ trading card games are non existent and questionable with how they practice tournaments and policies. UPDATE BELOW: Due to the owners response, I felt liable to update my response with additional details. I hope, since I am a troll, that the owner can provide evidence against my claims. Until he does, let me provide further information for consumers. Their certification is real--that does not take much work to complete through Konami. Their tournaments are small (10 or so people), based on my 3 previous visits to this store. All three times, they held a tournament with a $10 entry fee--with no entry prize for players, which is stipulated as mandatory under Konami tournament policies. Additionally, all three tournaments had a prize payout that did not meet Konami tournament policy regulations. For example, lets go with 12 players in a tournament. That means each player gets compensation for their $10 (packs or tournament official OTS packs). Also, based on a 12 player tournament the prize structure should be a top 4 cut or finish with no top. This tournament should pay out 1 pack for 4th, 2 packs for 3rd, 3 packs for 2nd, and 4 packs 4th. This would be an example because prizes can be subjective to the store (i.e. give 6 packs to 1st and 4 to 2nd and nothing for 3rd and 4th). None of these practices were in place. I could be just a troll, what do I know other than being a Lv2 Rules Judge and tournament organizer for Konami. Apologies, forgot to address the trading card existence. Yes, they do sell products but so does Target and Walmart and one does not go to these locations to play in tournaments or get information of...
Read moreWe were excited about coming here but unfortunately did not get to experience seeing their collection. Walked in with our disabled child and the owner immediately asked where her mask was. ( he asked in a very rude manor) I informed him she is disabled and he goes “and does she have a mask” very rudely again I Inform him he was being rude and just left. We shop at card shops all around Washington with our daughter with no issues. We spend a lot of money at many card shops and we definitely will not spend our hard earn money with this man. After we walked out he stood at his door watching us walk away. (Creepy)
Update: no, a mask was not offered, you could have politely told us unfortunately it’s required in your store but instead you were rude and ugly towards my family. And actually the rule is “ People with a medical or mental health condition or disability that prevents them from wearing a mask.” Which was explained when we walked in that our daughter is disabled. You had every right to turn us away since it is your store and you can choose to allow disabled without a mask but how you choose to turn people away could have been done more professionally. If that was done we would have returned when we had a babysitter. From previous reviews, we should have avoided this place but wanted to give it a chance. And I did not make a “wise crack” I just said you don’t have to be rude. Maybe we will try again in the near future without our daughter and I will then update my review if we have a better experience. This is my honest opinion as...
Read moreThe store has been robbed recently so I feel for the owners, but I have to say something.
One of the store owners was very rude to me, telling me “if I wanted to get into real stuff, get into sports cards” (paraphrased) after I asked about Magic (not listed on their page, I know, I also asked about Pokémon, which is). Told him that there’s value in anything. He seemed generally disinterested in being friendly or welcoming. The other owner was much nicer and diffused the tension. That being said, they were much nicer to a kid that came in after me. Before they say I’m a troll, I showed up today at around 2pm, the windows were boarded up, I was there.
I would give 1 star, but the other owner being friendly raises the score some.
EDIT: As a reply to the owners who have posted below. I think we are all aware that neither Magic nor Pokemon cards are sports cards (no one said that they were), but saying "Pokemon cards are not sports cards" is NOT an excuse for your behavior, especially since you list them as an item for sale in your store description. You are dodging the main criticisms.
"We treat all guests with respect... No exceptions..." This is not true, as I have experienced a lack of said respect. All I ask is that you be better next time.
I do, however, respect you for taking the time to reply. I wish you luck in the future, and my condolences for what happened...
